Freo didn’t treat him very well imo. The reasons for Melbourne wanting to shift him were well known but Fremantle saw fit to sign him up on a three year term on very good money anyway. The moment he behaved as he had been behaving at Melbourne, they publicly banished him to the 2nds and made a scapegoat of him. Left before the end of his contract without much noise. Good player early on with Melbourne. Good enough to play at the highest level but didn’t like the restraints placed on him by his professional obligations.
In related news, it’s 2019.
