I wonder why Burns has never been given a shot? He has interveiwed for quite a few.
He’s been touted as the “next cab off the rank” over a number of years, but I wonder if missing out on top jobs starts to count against you after a while? I think he was in the mix for us at one point too.
Where’s SUMA?

Unfortunate use of hash tag there…
Isnt Woosha good mates with Pyke?
Yes.
Both to Freo?
Adelaide sacking their coach couldn’t even hold the news cycle for six hours. Overtaken by fake ■■■■. Remarkable.
Edit: fine. Fake urine.

LOL, hes totally going to be donning a Bombers polo in a few weeks
I remember when Brian Royal was interviewed everywhere for around 5 years and continually missed out on the head coaching job. The AFL game eventually went past him and he returned to coaching lower levels.
Maybe that’s why we didn’t sack worsfold. Rutten was our head coach pick but he was aware the Adelaide job was opening up…
Pyke has about $30m in the bank, must love coaching to keep doing it
Pyke will become Head of Development or something, but I’m confident Woosha will rope him in. Pyke was pretty emphatic at still being involved in coaching.
so long as he doesent try to chime in with with pesky gameplans and tactics. it will interfere with our players and their learnings
Pyke is pretty keen to get back to WA I believe.
I’ll join the “nuke my membership” crowd if that happens. Do. Not. Want.
If Adelaide had sacked their coach midway through the season, they may not have needed to sack their coach at all.
Posted this in the Rutten thread but probably belongs here;
Interesting listening to Michaelangelo Rucci today on radio. He says an “outsider” coming in is an Un Adelaide thing to do and he can’t see them going down that reach again having pointed to Robert Shaw, Gary Ayres and Don Pyke. He says they need to be winning lots of matches for the Adelaide fan base to accept an outsider. He views Rutten as the obvious one with Goodstuff Goodwin the long shot with Burns the wild card. He did say that Rutten was a smart man and if he’s been given some form of assurance for 2021 at Essendon, he likely wouldn’t come to Adelaide because he knows too well the culture at the club and the pressure cooker environment he’s be subjected to. Rucci also said it would require a certain past crow to be given the license to build a team again given the player unrest and gave the names of Ricciuto, Jamieson, Smart, Mattner, Clarke and Burton as the reason for the boys club perception and that whoever comes in may have needed to be part of that group back in the day (I’d be thinking Goodstuff going by that). Either way, if all those factors are at play, that’s a seriously fractured footy club IMO.
Congratulations to Rory and Belinda Sloane who have just announced the birth of a son. This time everything has gone well. Did a great job of hiding the pregnancy.
That’s great news. Absolutely tragic what they went through
