i thought it was a pretty even game at half time, then the Tigers went berzerk. Taylor Walker got caught holding the ball and i remember thinking “yeah, Tigers have got this”.
I think the signs were there late in the 2nd qtr that the Tiges were taking over.
When Martin went forward and beat his man pointless in a one on one (Kelly?), everyone including the Adelaide fans knew what was coming.
it still blows me away how everything fell away after that grand final. they had all the momentum in the world. Top of the ladder, Eddie Betts was everyones favourite player, T. Walker was voted the best captain in the league and they were red hot favourited for the flag.
Nek minnit
Lever wants out, Cameron wants out, Walker cracks the ■■■■■, the club gets bent over backwards with Sloanes new contract, and then the dreaded pre-season camp… queue the sharp drop down the ladder…
I remember a few one on ones out near the boundary
in the first of perhaps second which resulted in throws in where the tiger just went so much harder and the crow short stepped where I thought the crows aren’t prepared to pay the price.
Yep
Was all Crows in the 1st Q, all Tigers from the 2nd Q onwards.
Adelaide 2017 is just another example of the need to take an opportunity when it presents.
They blew it big time, and now looks likely that they will miss Finals the following 2 years, with a likely mini (or maxi) rebuild on the way.
People think of them as a successful team, but their Premiership drought is longer than ours, and North’s !
If you think of a successful team as one that wins flags, you’re gonna have a bad time.
Finals wins are great.
Just having a good, reliable team is better.
I dunno, keeping in mind that we’re not in either part of this conversation, would you rather have been a Bulldogs fan or a Crows fan for the last twenty years?
Dogs.
Flags are all that matter, anything else is a loss.
Give me 1 flag and zero other finals every twenty years over finals every year for zero flags
So it’s your fault.
Okay.
How much more would you prefer to be a Crows fan over the last twenty-two years, then?
I think this holds true, but only in hindsight. When actually living it, you want the hope that finals series brings.
Being a good home and away side is kind of nice, too.
Could I have 2 in twenty?
1 in twenty is a bit below average.
Dogs and Crows would have about the same number of finals and prelims over that stretch, wouldn’t they?
Wallet took them to 2 prelims, Eade to 2 or 3, Beveridge 1 (the flag year)
Plus the odd first & second week appearance in there too.
I wouldn’t.
In the last 20 years the Dogs have won a flag and played in 3 or 4 consecutive Prelims for memory.
Hell in the last 20 years I’d rather have supported us than the Crows!
Just seen you changed it to 22 years, sneaky bugger
Hardwick was giggling
How did they beat gold coast by 90+??
Jenkins dropped again and you would think that’s the end of him in Adelaide. Rumours around town point to a couple of off field issues and a big falling out with the coach and club. Haven’t heard anything concrete yet but there is just too much noise coming from people around the club
Any chance on a Bomber homecoming for very cheap price?
On a massive contract with several years to run, unless he takes a pay cut they are stuck with him. If there is any shred of truth to the rumours there is no way the Crows can pick him again
