I know I’m late, but I just wanted to note the end of Picken’s career.
Loved him as a player.
Loved him.
Sadly, what I loved about him most is probably what made him retire.
Tough as nails.
Never say die.
Always put in.
Never the most skilful player, but always effective.
Changed his game as the game changed and was successful as a running back, a tagger, and an inside mid accumulator.
Fantastic career, and one of the last great old fashioned footballers.
I hope he can and does enjoy his retirement.
