Very strong 2002 Blumfield/Heffernan/Moorcroft vibes going on at the Pies right now. I seriously thought every club had thoroughly learned their lesson from the shitshow we went through then, but apparently not.

I hope it fks the Pies over for a generation like it did us.

Is it true that Stephenson had to ring Buckley to find out he was being shopped around?
Imagine hearing on the grapevine that you are being shopped & not having any knowledge of it first hand from the club

  • At the end of 2015 season, having scouted Treloar all year and possibly earlier, Collingwood trade two first round draft picks to get him and sign him to a 6 year deal on big money.
  • After 3.5 years on their list and with 2.5 years still to run on his contract, Collingwood extends his contract for a further 4 years, again on big money and with the bulk of the money to come in the final years of the contract.
  • Treloar played for Collingwood for 5 seasons and was not once omitted from the AFL team.
  • 18 months after signing that extension Collingwood push him out because “they don’t like his play”

Sorry I’m not buying for even a fraction of a second this had anything to do with on field performance. It does not fit with anything else that has happened prior to the last 6 weeks.

Pushed is a nice word… kicked to the curb is more in-line with what they’re saying about him and his wife.

I really feel for him, the club is doing a real dog act.
