Should this be a poll?
Do we really want Eddie to go?
A. He goes, and the knuckle dragging Pies address the issue of racism at their club, to the betterment of all in Oz society.
B. He stays, and the club continues to deny there is an issue, only to implode at a later date.
As attractive as option B is, it has to be A. Eddie must go. Get the word out Tweeters!
Damian Monkhorst led the Collingwood team onto the ground the week after he racially abused Michael Long - thus ensuring he had the support of the club. Unbelievable! Collingwood has always been a ■■■■ club.
You bet it was! I posted this last year and here it is again:
I’ll never forget my first visit to the outer at Victoria Park in the 1970s.
It was about half-time in the seconds and, even at this early stage of the day, the ugly, toothless, one-eyed Magpie fans were as drunk as skunks, smoking like chimneys and turning the air blue with their abuse and foul language. They were fighting with each other, stumbling and falling over themselves and peeing in their pants where they stood rather than relinquish their spot in the crowd.
The joint is rotten to the core when it comes to racism.
Not only have our own players, opened up about the racism they have copped from Collingwood players… but do we really need to state the history of racism from Collingwood officials, players and supporters… dating back to the days of Victoria park?
Not surprised in the least as many have pointed out. Of course Eddie should resign immediately.
What is just as upsetting is the fact that nothing will come of this. No sanctions, no punishment. The club will just be allowed to fix the issues itself without outside interference.
You would think after the report came out they would of had some sort of board meeting before the presser. They would of talked about how to address it. How the hell did they come to the conclusion that it was best to handle it in that way.
Even if Eddie “went into business for himself” in that presser, it just shows how weak their whole board is to not stand up to him
