I haven’t watched the full game but there is a half-hour highlights YouTube video up. I think Watson kicked 5 that night. There were so many great games in ‘93 that live in the memory!

I reckon they changed that rule after Justin Madden did it to us at Waverley. Daisy Williams broke his leg that day.
Was that the same night Robert Shaw coaching Fitzroy was able to listen in on Sheedy and the Essendon coaches box?

That was a great game. Watching those highlights how good were those young kids, Mercuri’s handball, Misiti kicking, Hirds marking on Roos.
Fitzroy played really well that night also, they had some really good players just not enough money to pay them.

Browne saying North have gone all in on Clarkson whilst GWS are committed to going through the entire process to select a coach.
Clarkson asking for around $1.6m a year.

The coaching soft cap goes up by $500k this year and $250k next year, so Clarko’s $1.6m is analogous to $1.1m for a coach this year.
Apparently there are coaches on more than a million now, so it’s not as crazy as it sounds. A canny play when you know there is an increase coming and a club is desperate for you.

Yeah but they’re putting all their cap to Clarkson.
Not to bring in experienced and quality support.
They mentioned it would be roughly 23% of their soft cap going to Clarkson.

Yeah but it means he will have taken basically the whole increase in soft cap, leaving nothing for extra coaching resources or to go pay more for more capable assistants. Coming out of Covid these areas are under resourced as it is.
Totally mad if a club meets that imo, particularly North with their already limited resources

If true, that would all but price him out of Essendon, as we would have to pay out Truck as well as pay Clako.
Not that I’m criticising Clarko for asking for that though. Supply and demand. Some teams need an elite coach to reset their whole clubs
If you aren’t going to run a process, it may as well be to land the best coach in the AFL for the last 30 years.
