Once more it is proven that taking an injured player into a GF is a mistake. Reid was nowhere near it today, selecting him was almost as big a blunder as when GWS selected Phil Davis and Lachie Whitfield against the Tigers.

This is a damaging day for the Bin Chickens. Bloods culture went missing. They didn’t answer the call. I can see this really having a detrimental effect on them as per Port in 2007. They looked like a shell shocked group that didn’t handle the pressure. Buddy Franklin is cooked. I can’t believe they signed him for another season. His finals series has been listless. The end comes quickly.

Reid just isn’t that good, was almost delisted at the end of last year, he was one of those guys left waiting till late before getting a deal.
To be fair, he had a fairly good year…but he should never have put himself up for selection…and they shouldn’t have picked him.

I would suggest they had lost ( psychologically) before the first bounce. They knew Geelong were a better team, they knew they do not play well on the G, they knew the crowd was against them, they did not believe they could beat Geelong and they caved virtually from the first bounce.

Look at what happened after Adelaide lost the Granny by only 8 goals. Complete disintegration as a club.
Geelong beat the Swans by 12 goals in a complete and utter demolition. Clearly it knocks more than a bit of a shine off your self belief to be so comprehensively thrashed in every department. I suppose the supporters are hoping it was a Black Swan Event. Trouble is there’s a good chance they will drop out of the 8 next season, which will be the swansong for Buddy surely?

I think he’s referring to the most recent one they lost, not the one in ‘16 which they lost or the one in ‘14 which they also lost

I know which GF he was referring to. I was making a point about making the GF, or GF’s in Sydney’s case.
