Season 2022 - Sydney

Keep going long enough and you will convince yourself that Cotchin struck Buddy.

They were both shoving each other. I was talking about a direction Sydney could take at the tribunal, not what I actually believe. Personally I’m fine with Franklin missing a week, (or more.)

Diggers is already certain of that.

Good timing as he was due some time off to freshen up.

In comes H McLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEAN!

Sydney (predictably) appealing the suspension.

They’re questioning the point that his action was intentional.

He was clearly looking straight at Cochin and it was the second swing he took.

But we are know what the outcome will be. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Get absolutely ■■■■■■ they are challenging this, any other player would be glad to take a one match ban after smacking someone in the head.

Well knock me down with a feather.

Sydney and Buddy must have finally run out of the seemingly endless supply of “Get out of Jail Free” cards

In totally unexpected news, the tribunal has UPHELD Franklin’s suspension.

The end of the world must be coming.

Their appeal against his suspension was frivolous at best.

If there’s any truth to the rumours that Escobar is demanding ~$700k next year then the assumptions of his pastimes must be pretty accurate

I wouldn’t offer him anymore than $350-400k

You think when they’ve paid him a sh¡tload over such a long period, oftentimes where he wasn’t even playing a great deal of footy, that he’d stay for a bit of unders if he wanted to go around again at his age. Especially when Sydney are a chance to contend next year.

I reckon it’s the right move by Sydney to not offer a substantial contract to him. Amartey and McDonald will only get better again with another pre season under their belts, Hayden McLean can play and Reid is solid depth. They might even have their eye on someone else this off season.

Could be made up media spin but if it’s true then he’s an even bigger wanker than first thought

Sydney had to pay him that amount to get him. That was market rate for Franklin. I don’t think that comes into consideration at all for this contract.

My guess is they’ll strike a deal, though. One party is trying to leverage a bit via the media is all. Which is now just par for the course.

I hope Harley finds a photo of Buddy and another club official drinking lattes down a Melbourne laneway coffee shop on the back page of his morning paper.

I saw that article in yesterdays Sydney Toilet Paper someone had left it open when I went to pick up a coffee
I couldn’t believe that Buddy was knocking back $0.5m for one season next year. He’s just been paid what $9-10m for the last decade with all of those seasons at full pay even when he wasn’t playing or out of form
I kind of believe it though and seems in line with his persona
Mercenary who’s old team won two flags after he took the $$ at Shitney
