Given the choice, which of those two would you choose for yourself or your kids?
Well, neither.
A disappointing response by some - As Chris points out, McCartin is only playing because he’s been given the tick of approval by medical professionals - What you or I think is irrelevant BUT of course some must have an OPINION - Anyway, I wish McCartin the best of luck in the future.
disparaging people having opinions says poster with opinions
I have offered no opinion on whether McCartin should play - He’s been approved by the medicos and wants to play - That’s all that matters.
Some might argue that McCartin is already exhibiting signs of brain trauma.
Apparently, he goes on St Kilda forums, and tries to start up conversations about Sydney Swans with them. They all feel really bad for him.
Poor guy.
You’re better off keeping a low profile.
Are you serious?
When you’re being this disingenuous I have no idea why people engage with you.
When you expose yourself to CTE it’s not just about you getting knee surgery on an ACL and maybe not being able to do marathons after footy.
This is a serious issue with consequences we don’t quite understand. At best a lifelong strain on the health system, at worst you become a serious danger to others (Chris Benoit or Aaron Hernandez)
I am serious. And it’s not up to you to decide what’s right for P McCartin either.
Mccartins firmly in the find a new career bin with pucovski.
Josh Kennedy out for 8-10 weeks with bad hammy, could be end of career.
His longevity been pretty good, 34.
Wtf?!
Correct @diggers. There’s more than a tinge of irony with an Essendon supporter criticising medical professionals as irresponsible.
I wish we had have taken a punt on McCartin. Would have supported either end of the ground for us whilst we bring on a few younger kids.
good player. imagine how good that hawthorn side would have been if they held on to him.
Yeah 10 weeks at that age is hard to come back from you would think. See how his Hamstrings recover I guess?
My tip is they would get trying to get him up for a farewell game this year with that.
That is a real pity, he has been a real gem and warrior. I love the way he has played the game, tough but fair.
Screw Hawthorn.
I dont believe it. They rubbed out Buddy. The biggest money making drawcard ever in AFL footy.
Probably saw the opportunity for the $10k appeal fee and some Tuesday media clicks. Swans could appeal the intentional aspect of the decision, saying Franklin intended to hit Cotchin in the chest, which is why his hand was open. They could also appeal the low impact aspect, pointing out Cotchin remained standing, wasn’t medically assessed etc, and that it should be lowered, and the free kick given at the time was a sufficient penalty.
Well its worth a try. The frequency of Buddy winning games off his own boot is reducing, but he pulls out a great game just often enough to get the fans into the stadium in expectation, and that means $$$
