The draw’s probably compounded it, too. They’ve had all three of last year’s prelim finalists, another top 4 team, and their bounce back game after a disappointing round 1 loss was an away game in Perth. Not ideal if you’ve come into the season a bit sluggish, physically or mentally. The cats, by comparison, played one (losing) finalist and two bottom 4 teams in their first five weeks before the hard games started.

I find the footy classified Kane and llordo analysis of players defending the most amatuer rubbish around. Most of them you could turn the complete opposite way around. For example, if mcclugagge gets the ball instead of ward, they would say ward isn’t defending (but his team didn’t lose the game so they won’t). The stuff they typically highlight happens 100x a game, but they use little clips to try make a drama out of why a team lost.
First crack on the other hand breaks down actual poor defending, with multiple angles and proper analysis. I think it’s a great show.

I agree and am surprised king gets so many negative posts on here when his analysis (his and his support team) is better than anything blitz offers (IMO) and at least he has some real data to support his views.
but I guess the idea that a HQ ex AFL footy player knows more about footy than a bunch of bomber tragics who just want to sack someone is too radical.

Good to see Daniher exposed (again). You can’t blame Essendon’s culture for his laziness ATM.
Doesn’t mention the impact of playing in the grand final and having a shorter off season, made worse this year by the Northen clubs opening round reducing their prep time by a week.
