They’ve geelonged their list IMO
Will compete next year
Maybe not the year after
Lots of 30 year olds but they seem to keep most of them fit

they dont have elite youngsters like the cats
I reckon about the same or worse can’t see them getting any massive improvement. Really falling on the aging side
I thought you were made of sterner stuff than this. To give up on a game 6 months away is weak.
Pies will get a better draw and wont have target on their back being the premiers.
Pies will have a better year, likely finals.
would love to see the end of Pendlebury. Houston will be good for them. better investment than Schultz
Agree.
Normally I am Captain.
Suppose even the most diehards of us suffer a wobble from time to time… its been a long time we’ve been sat in AFL purgatory now.
I’ll get over it in time for R1 … and AZ Day.
Our season will be over by Arizona Day.
Wait… that’s today?
Pies are great at identifying and bringing in average players they know will thrive in their system. Like Geelong. Both will continue to compete regularly for that reason.
Are they?
Pies could have a big drop off in 2025.
2024 was held together by aged stars who are on the decline… And Daicos.
Houston will help and is a big upgrade on Noble but still doesn’t cover the gaps they have.
They are a bottom four chance.
They will bounce back hard and are a shot at the flag
I wouldn’t be surprised if they made finals and potentially push top four.
With the Daicos boys they are a good chance for the 8, but not top 4. They have been found out, and went to the well of close finishes more than any other team l can recall. While it worked for them in 2022 and 2023, it is not sustainable long term, nor can it form the foundation for a lasting dynasty. They got found out this year, and with a lack of picks in the draft will begin to fall away, as their core of older players retire.
They will make top 4 again IMO
Injuries affected them this year, players back + new additions and will be right in it again
Unfortunately
That’s what we’ve been saying about Geelong for the last 10 years or so.
Geelong and Pies are very different teams as different as the direction of their stripes.
And geelong’s the only team that hasn’t fallen away. Maybe someone else will figure it out, but better teams than the pies have tried and ■■■■■■ it right up.
