Season 2024 - Collingwood

I hate seeing young guys ending their careers too soon or picking up a season ending injury. Not only AFL but any sport. Hope he goes alright in whatever path he chooses.
Fark Collingwood though.

He’s on Talking Footy now. Seems like a great young man. Will do well outside of footy.

Very well spoken and looks comfortable in front of the camera, out performing the other two recently retired on that show by a long way, I think he could get a gig in footy media.

Can Eddie setup a GoFundMe for Bucks?

Old boy seems to be hawking stuff off left right and centre

To be fair, a lot of that stuff seems like ■■■■ most other people would have thrown out yonks ago.

Who doesn’t want a Brisbane Bears Drizabone in their wardrobe?

I don’t understand this. They have a Toorak mansion worth 18m which they paid 4m and would presumably owe nothing on after a 15 year playing career and 10 ish as coach, not to mention media stuff.

If they split the estate in half, buying the whole lot of this for 100k is a rounding error on merely the 9m in the house. Can Buckley not afford this? Could they not carve things up slightly differently to get to the same financial amount going to each party? Is it just a case of him not wanting it all that badly?

Edit - hasn’t been posted in this thread but the news report is that he’s devo that it’s all getting sold and that he was kind of hoodwinked/not on board with it

Paul little should buy all his stuff then offer to have Buckley collect it all as a gesture of goodwill from tulla, for Buckley to find little burning all his ■■■■ on the Etihad oval.

They’ve got some real problems with Sidebottom, who has clearly gone 1 year too many.

To a lesser extent, Tom Mitchell is in clear decline though has a defensive game that makes him somewhat valuable.

Frampton was out marked at some point yesterday by ALL of our tall/medium forwards (Wright,Jones,Langford,Stringer).
They are going to miss Murphy, particularly as Howe has lost half a yard of pace and spring.

Back to back would be a huge effort.
All likelihood, we see a different Premier this year.

I thought it was a process to put a dollar price on the asset value of the memorabilia, which would be included in the financial carve up.

Pendles too imo

I don’t think you could (or would want) to lose all 3 (Pendles, Sidebottom, Mitchell) in the 1 off season.
Probably 1 or 2 could have been transitioned out but would be a bit stiff to win a flag then a month or 2 later get forced into retirement lol.

I thought that was the prefect time to retire off their own backs, not wait to be told.

Moral of the story is, don’t look like some fish like creature with a head like a bucket of busted crabs, then trade your misses in 15-20 years into your family journey for a shiny younger model. You reap what you sow!! ■■■■ him

Agreed. Just think it was in the Pies best interests for 1-2 of the 3 to stay on. If all 3 wanted to play on though it’d be a hard sell to say no to them.

As long as that team isn’t Carlton

King and Cornes disscused it his morning.

Cornes said they have a few players that are 30 plus they need to make discisons on

Mitchell,Sidebottom,Howe,Pendles,Hoskin Elliot all look passed it maybe not all at once but at least 2 or 3 need to go

Sidebottom may need to David Myers himself.

Think Howe will definitely retire with maybe sideass and Mitchell. Pendlebury will probably go on next year

Pendlebury probably wants the games record.
