Season 2024 - North Melbourne

When they do fold I hope their last game is against us and we send em off with a 20 goal loss and Cale Hooker slapping all their players in the back of their heads for good measure

How much longer do they need to be sh*t for?

Ooof the list of players they showed on FC who havent had much wins at North is damming

Wardlow 0 wins 13 losses

I reckon if all their good players start asking for trades

They get less than 10k to home games against interstate sides.

Their membership levels get really low

Keep on finishing in the bottom 2 year after year

I reckon there is every chance they get merged with another team like Gold Coast. The AFL would never completely fold them

Well they’ll play an away game against Tassie :grinning:

There will be more I reckon. Definitely sell out every game in the 1st season.

As long as they are going fine financially, the AFL will have no interest in folding/merging them. The on-field performance is a bit irrelevant from that perspective.

It’s comes down to what more do they have to do to get the AFL to threaten to take away their license. Because they have to vote on relocation through the membership and keeping the Kangaroos in North Melbourne seems to be the only thing they give enough of a ■■■■ about as a member group. So if relocating is the thing to vote on they’ll vote no, but if it’s a vote on doing whatever it takes to keep their AFL license, they’re far more likely to vote on being able to follow a team that has the husk of North Melbourne in the back corner of a shed somewhere than they are to agree to just let the whole thing die.

But it has to come to that first.

And what does it take for it to get that bad? Probably major off-field scandal around misappropriation of funds provided by the AFL, as well as continued levels of on field non-performance and a resurgence of Clakko’s racism scandal.

The financial misconduct using AFL funds is a big one but given nothing else has remade them jump yet I suspect it will come down to that. And given they have spruiked being debt free recently, if that came out as fudging the books while someone has their hand in the till it would be big enough. I’m not suggesting that that is what has happened, I’m suggesting that given how badly they’ve done up till now with no movement, something of that magnitude is what’s required to force the members to accept relocation.

Lets just get the win in Round 10.

Essington is always lurking…

Here’s the result in paying your coach an astronomical wage, you’re left with this group of coaches/support staff underneath him.

That ship sailed when they didn’t take the AFL’s huge package to move to the GC

North should be called the AFL leftovers

That’s a horrible list of recruits

The only thing that could have made it worse would have been if Andrew Gaff accepted their 7 year, 8 million dollar offer

Hasn’t he fallen off a cliff, jeepers. He was always a bit of a cat but he used to be a semi decent cat. He’s absolutely COOKED and hasn’t fired a shot for years.

Barlow is a good head of development. Only heard good things about his work at Werribee in the VFL.

The rest is a bit meh, but in theory, part of the reason you pay Clarkson big money to coach a developing team is because he’ll teach those under him to be very good assistants.
