Just when my Supercoach side looked full strength, the captain goes down.
Is it just me, or does anyone else find Bailey Smith spending the whole fkn summer in Europe truly bizarre?
He’s getting paid close to 800k and he’s just able to take the leave and then look forward to another 2 months at the end of the season.
I get he’s got a program to do and he’s out the door but it’s honestly a joke.
Just you.
Cool.
Agreed. I remember reading this tweet a few weeks ago too and apparently his surgeon recommended it? The replies are funny
I mean if he can do his recovery while overseas, why not?
He seems to keep himself in pretty good Nick… if it means he comes back from his ACL in a good frame of mind, then all’s well.
Surgeons are doctors too. The recommendation from a surgeon doesn’t strictly have to be related to physical recovery from the injury.
I saw him while I was running laps at Whitten Oval over two months ago. No brace, no limp, nothing. He looked like he could have played the next day.
lol there’s no way Julian Feller would be saying that.
If I were other clubs this is a red flag. He’s another Joe Daniher, only plays on his selfish terms
That’s never come across on field. He’s nothing if not 100% effort when he plays.
Well, at least when I’ve seen him play. He never stops fkn running.
hamstring awareness will do that to a man
Straight line running is pretty early in the ACL rehab continuum.
Maybe the Bulldogs don’t won’t the distraction of him being around fielding questions about his future (or off field behaviour)
This was a thought I had also, if the papers are stamped then remove the distraction.
I’m fairly certain Carlton may have done similar when Henderson was leaving to Geelong. Effectively said you’re going, may as well steer clear as of now
BULLDOGS great John Schultz has been remembered as a man who lit up the MCG on the most momentous day in the club’s history, with the man known as ‘Gentleman John’ passing away at the age of 85.
I remember him winning the Brownlow. First of a string of Footscrays rucks to win the Chas. Schultz was big and strong and fair, he was a very good exponent of the ruck craft.
Beveridge is a smarmy git. I love seeing him suffer
Surely it’s time The Bulldogs moved on from him.
Most of the experts have been highly complimentary of their list for some years now and yet they continue to underachieve.
They’re one of the flakiest teams in the comp…brilliant one week, bog average the next.
I’d suggest that his message isn’t getting through anymore.
I don’t know.
The top end of their list is great.
But the have O’Donnell, Jones, Lobb, Bailey Williams off a wing, McNeil and Vandemeer in their regular 18.
Bailey Smith was out injured which didn’t help. Riley Sanders, McRae and Daniel have been back and forth from VFL. Still have Croft and Busslinger developing at VFL.
I think the list is okay and developing, but they struggle to have a balanced lineup that handles teams defensively. They tend to ‘all out attack’ and overwhelm the opposition.
