Tall blokes with versatility always get long careers. I like him, he has a crack and can play all 3 areas of the field, handy depth player. I remember in his Collingwood days i was standing next to him in the line going through customs on the way to the US, one of the biggest people I’ve ever been next to, not only tall but built as solid as a rock too.

@Bully I guess we saw what Toby Greene can do when required. He dominated that last quarter when switched on the ball.
I think he is an elite onballer who plays in the forward line but is ready to go in a break glass moment.
I’d argue that Tom Green, Fin Callaghan, Josh Kelly and Toby Greene are as good as any top 4 mids in the comp, maybe the best. Plus Bedford is arguably the best two way run with player in the comp.
With Tom Green in, they shifted Coniglio to the forward line. And even though Hogan, Stringer and Daniels went off at half time and were all out of the forward line, they still managed to win.
I agree that they are too heavily reliant on Briggs in the ruck. I think they should look at bringing in a back up mid season.

Yeah but Toby G was really poor last year and he hasn’t played midfield in years and is over 30, so there isn’t a body of work there to say he’s an A grade mid, let alone a consistent A grade pinch hitter in there yet.
From what i saw Kelly didn’t do much yesterday which is more his baseline. I still only have Tom Green and only now this year Callaghan as their 2 A graders in the midfield. I agree though if they can get some good pinch hitting from Toby and stringer throughout the year, it pushes up their midfield a bit. I don’t really rate Melbourne they will be bottom 8, so was surprised the giants just scraped across the line yesterday.

I told you guys pre season their midfield is junk (outside Callaghan and green) and has zero depth in the two’s, so their is no selection pressure on their old guys in there too perform.
Caruso’s lack of adding mature depth to their midfield will cost them a flag 2 years in a row. There was a stat the other day on fox that their defence is the best in the comp, but their poor midfield is killing their ability to win, 12th or something it’s ranked.
Gold Coast has gone past them.
