Yep. Until their recent resurgence (not that they were down for long), crowds had plummeted. They kept their heads down, caps off and scarves tucked away. Then, suddenly, they turned a corner and were back in your face, scarf draped around their necks, telling you how awesome they are.
They make me sick.
There were a few rather lippy ones in the bay where I sit on Friday. Would love how they came to be there given I was sure it’s an Essendon members’ reserved seat area. Certainly was for most of the past 28 years.
Yeah, I absolutely despise giving this toilet club $1000 a year only to have a heap of opposition fans around me. I’ve left early and not just because the team is plying ■■■■ but because I’ve wanted to belt mouthy opposition fans
This was one of the reasons I gave up my reserved seat membership. I found myself increasingly surrounded by groups of opposition fans who would intentionally poke and prod.
The tipping point for me was the Geelong game at the MCG last year. An entire row of lippy Cats fans were absolutely giving it to the Essendon members (myself included) sitting in front. Defeats the purpose of a dedicated members area.
It does make me reconsider shelling out or the reserved seat, and taking my chances to just ‘squat’ in a good spot on gameday. I know that’s what some of these people did, as I know the people who normally have the seats.
Look, would you mind just throttling back on the relentless shitcanning of the club. Seems like any opportunity you can get, its sink the boots in and denigrate the club with your particular language.
We get it, EFC aren’t currently measuring up but they haven’t been sitting on their arrrse either. Decisions have been made like the Zach one that aren’t palatable to some, but also defendible in their own right.

If you hate the club so much, if you feel so much pain not only from the losses but every decision made, why the fark would you spend so much time on a chat site reliving it?

They’re playing extremely well for this early in the season. Whether it’s sustainable and they’re firing at the right time of the year will obviously be revealed later.
