Serie A/La Liga/Bundesliga/Other Euro Leagues

I hate to keep going in to hype mode but what Bellingham is doing is just insanity. In his first Clasico, at Barcelona, with Real Madrid lucky to be just a goal down, he shoots (with incredible deliberation, mind you) from way outside the box, off one step, with so much power that the ball nearly rips the net.

Then, in the 92nd min, he is in the perfect position to tap in the winner.

I bought a Bellingham jersey in July once my then favorite Real player, Marco Asensio left for PSG.

My favorite player of ALL time is Iker Casillas.

Jude is now my 2nd and quickly rising.

So Messi wins 8th Ballon d’Or playing in the US.

This is as rigged as the Tyson Fury win.

Shouldn’t even sniff the Ballon D’or if you’re in a backwater league like the MLS. Pure reputation got him that.

The World Cup win got him that. Funny to think that if France had won, Mbappe may very well have leap-frogged the others and taken the Ballon d’Or

It’s like a player winning the Brownlow playing in the VFL.

Before Messi

With Messi

I don’t think he’ll win another but that win had virtually nothing to do with his InterMiami career.

How many did Ronaldo win as a matter of curiosity? Mbappe, Bellingham and Haaland will most likely share the next few.

i think thats the wrong team/competition you’re referencing
he plays for inter miami in the MLS

i do agree with your overall point however

Haaland arguably should’ve won. What’s more laughable is Julian Alvarez finished top 10 for warming the bench all year

I finished 11th and I have never played.

Don’t let facts get in the way of a good story!

Just to be clear - the award is for the 2022/23 season (not the calendar year) which he obviously played at PSG and had the equal most assists of anyone in Europe. His goals/assists in all competitions was more than Haaland. He had a very good season, but the crux of the matter is, the award includes the World Cup where he led his nation to the title, picking up 5 out of 7 man of the matches along the way.

Haaland had a phenomenal season and would also have been deserving but not being at the world cup cost him.

Mbappe also has a great season and a great world cup.

De Bruyne and Rodri are less spoken about due to being midfielders, but their influence on City winning the treble would be similar to Haaland.

I think you could make an argument for any of the above, but the majority of players, coaches and journalists seem to believe it was Messi and that’s who the journalists voted for.

Next season (and beyond) will be interesting- Mbappe, Haaland, Bellingham, even Vini Jnr if he can refind his form, or De Bruyne if city continue to dominate. It probably will come down to Euros.

I’ll tip Bellingham.

Same. If he helps England win the Euros next year then it’s pretty much game on.

Don’t see Bayern lose in that manner too often.

Great to see Juve back in the mix this season and even better seeing Milan struggling.
Inter still look the best team this year from what I’ve seen but long way to go

Think the title is inters to lose. They bat very deep

Yeah, plenty of depth in that squad unfortunately. Just hope we can stick with them for as long as possible and see what happens. They haven’t got too many weaknesses at all though

Jose Mourinho sacked by Roma. Continues the trend of never having spent more than three seasons at any club during his managerial career. Obviously he managed Chelsea twice, but never lasted longer than 3 seasons in either stint. Says a fair bit…

Says he is a goid manager in the short term but is too abrasive and the sheen wears off quickly.

Feel sorry for him in a way. Compare the Roma team of today to one of years gone by. It is absolutely terrible nowadays

big sam but actually good.

And this makes me happy :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
