Shaken not stirred- all things Bond

Daniel Craig or David Niven version.

The Niven one. I’m watching in chronological order. I thought the Craig one was a ripper

See I don’t think that one should count as a Bond film. I’ve never even watched it.

What about Never say Never again???
Does that count as a Bond film- or are we only going with the Cubby Borccoli productions??

I think so. You dont? Based on me excluding Casino Royale?

Save yourself the two hours, it’s garbage

Casino Royale is the best, But the last 30 minutes is just a waste of time, or the could’ve cut down the gambling scenes. then I’d say Goldfinger. The old ones are just too sleazy. My son is watching them a bit lately and even at his age he can pick up the guys a creep.

The trailer for the new one looks great, so disappointed it is delayed.

Pearce Brosnan is the worst.

And if you’ve heard the story by Lazenby about why he didn’t do another Bond, He seems to be coping well with his career decision.

Can you elaborate?

There’s a good Doco out there about George. who he was, how he progressed to get the role, and why he refused to sign on for a 6 Movie contract.

It’s called Becoming Bond.

Ok. My order of preferrence

  1. Casino Royale
  2. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
  3. Moonraker
  4. The Living Daylights
  5. Skyfall

Special mention to A View To A Kill because I love Grace Jones. Moonraker makes the list because it’s so wrong, it’s right. The others are really good films.

Seriously, if you haven’t seen the G Lazenby doco, seek it out whilst in isolation. You can’t believe how he got the role, and the circumstances around his quitting the role are even more ludicrous. If you could choose what life you’d like to live in advance, you’d choose the ‘George Lazenby’.

I had a feeling Moonraker would be one of your faves. Was it Goodhead that did it for you?

Nope. no

Upon release, “Live and Let Die” was the most successful Bond theme up to that point, reached No. 1 on two of the three major US charts (though only reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100) and No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart.

All of it. The premise, Jaws, the mid-air fight over a parachute, making out in zero gravity… It actually had it all.
