I have a Japanese friend who works for a company that renovates thousands of homes a year, mostly in ski areas, that are often bought by Australians.
Buying property in Japan is nothing like in Australia, so they want to try and make it easier for people to understand.

Maybe a smidgen better than 2006, but 2026 ski season looks to be ending for Victorian resorts next week.
I was toying with the idea of an overnight trip this week, but then I got hit on the elbow at baseball last week and decided it wasn’t worth the trip and to risk a worse injury before next year’s Canada trip. I hate it when I miss an entire year without getting to the snow.
It’s looking pretty grim even today.

Baw Baw are officially pulling the pin after Sunday. I know it’s a Mickey Mouse ski-field and doesn’t get a heap of snow at the best of times, but I have fond memories of wagging uni in the early 90’s to drive up for their Tight-Arse Tuesdays when lift passes were half-price.
They’ve obviously read the tea-leaves and decided that no amount of snow from here will make a manageable base and cut their losses.
Just checked the Buller cams… it’s FUBAR! Can’t imagine I’ll be using those $100 lift passes that they were offering during the Winter Olympics…
Yea Baw Baw is great. The kids learned to ski there and it’s not crowded.
Yeah, it’s fubar in the Vic resorts. LBS / Wombat is closed at Buller, Standard and Shakey never opened this season.
Wombat’s ramble is done at Falls, downloading is the only way back from Sun Valley.
I’m flat. zero snow for me this year, mates heading to Queenstown next week but due to my recent Europe travels, I am broke. 
Is falls ratshit as well?
Summit (& Inter) never opened, Wombat’s ramble closed as of today, so only Sun Valley open now.

No doubt Buller will try to juice the lemon for another couple of weeks (even though they only had two lifts running today)… those bandits were still charging 160 bucks for a lift ticket with 4 lifts running on the weekend.

Bowed to the inevitable… is now also closing after this Sunday. It will only be the bandits at Buller ploughing onwards with 1 whole trail open…

Brother was out at Perisher this morning and said it was pretty windy but still got a couple of hours in. Reckons the snow was hard and pretty average. The locals seem to think maybe a fortnight left there at best
I’d imagine if they get a rainy day in the next week it’ll be game over… they’re madly shifting snow around plugging holes in the cover…
Yep, real possibility. He goes out there most days and is just hoping to get a couple more days in at least
I hope he’s on rental gear. No way I would be taking my board out in those conditions.
