One of his old boards. House a room full of them. He moved to Jindabyne and purchased a house at top dollar just so he could go to the snow before and after work most days during the season. He heads overseas for 8-10 weeks a year to board in the offseason here

Funny thing is that in 2006 I had better skiing than in 2026 (at Hotham). It was on un-lifted slopes and walking up, but those slopes were in no condition to be skied when I got a chance this year.
Yeah, I remember skiing at Hotham in 2006. Mid July was okayish, but by August it was getting bad.
The difference was that 2006 had little weather at all, so what snow did fall, hung around. This year anything that’s fallen, has been quickly washed away.
2006 you could ski to the bottom of LBS and Standard opened at Buller. None of that happened this year.
Just checking photos, it was late August 2006 we were still skiing a long way down Avalanche Gully on the south side of the Summit at Hotham.

Avalanche Gully does hold snow for a long time, given it’s aspect.
2006 the snow level was lower and held longer, this year not much under 1500m opened without a bucket load of snowmaking and even then it was brief.

Yeah just too warm, the freeze level was really high. I think there may have been 2 days skiable at Lake Mountain this year
