What makes him a great director? Being a good footy player from 40 years ago I’m not sure is taking Essendon forward.
surprised she isn’t saying subscribe to her patreon for her answers
What’s Paul Weston been doing for the last 40 years that makes him a good board candidate?
Nice that old players still have a connection to the club, but this seems like getting someone nominate and get votes from the older cotery crew who love the glory days.
howdy peoples! any more questions/comments about the 2024 AGM and election, please post in the other thread:
2016 Western Bulldogs?
It happened. I’ve never backed away from responding/connecting through my Facebook page/Messenger - or talking to members. I’m on Instagram too. In fact, when we I stood for the external review, I had many people reach out and say “stay strong, stay the course - you’re doing the right thing”.
Hi, good on you for persisting here.
The external review was 100% the right thing to do.
It’s unfortunate that the Thorburn events which followed created the impression that the review process was corrupted.
I don’t think the club or the board has satisfactorily addressed those concerns/perceptions.
That we’ve ended up with Vozzo and Rosa feels somewhat fortunate and may not have even come about but for the Thorburn event.
It certainly feels a little misleading to point to the appointment of Vozzo as a marker of the progress made it implementing the findings of the the external review process even if it is true in part.
I’ll be honest, I’ve distanced myself from the clubs messaging since the events of late 2022 owing to my significant levels of frustration with our onfield and offield bungles over the last 20 years so it’s possible I’ve missed some comms which address these concerns.
Nevertheless, I do see some green shoots at the club. I do hope we can stay the course and do things the slow hard way and not look to cut corners.
Reminiscent of “Generals came up to to me with tears in their eyes and said, “Sir…””
On SEN now
Paraphrasing he wants to help to MEGA
Love Solly, spoke well.
What does he bring that sets him apart? Vozzo builds a footy department, why do we need another X footy person on the Board?
Footy clubs aren’t operating in the 1980’s anymore. We should be trusting the Boards judgement and capability of Andrew Welsh. That’s why he was appointed to the Board. I don’t think more footy experience at Board level is going to make any material improvement to on field performance.

He mentioned he’s okay with the direction.
So he isn’t the ‘agent of change’ that people might be craving.
He said he has a skill set that can complement the board, but didn’t go into detail of what those skills were. Just said he has the skill set and experiences that can help the board.
Did question some form of transparency in where we are and where we’re going.
He’s a cultural collaborator and communicator.
It was an okay interview.
Go away Solly.
FFS.
Didn’t he say that he is living in ‘joey daniher’ country and comes to Melbourne on business?
Gross.
I really hope this doesn’t become a thing.
How many do you think they will sell at $39.95
He’s a very impressive businessman and the Club is lucky to have him back in the business side.
Stop the cap. It’s amazing!!
Here’s the interview. He’s right.
Wants to bring transparency to the club for it fans and members
He’s gets my vote one of my favourites Solly
