IMO the biggest problem with the club is the older players not contributing as they get close to or pass 30. Look around the league and you have players like Hawkins, Parker, Hurn, Rich, Simpson that were good to great players that haven’t dropped off like Hooker, Hurley, Zaka have. They are suppose to be the leaders performing consistently for our younger players to look up to and follow.

The leadership/performance void from our 25+ yr old players is a big issue (some injury related). And we often have under 25’s as our best players - Zerrett, McGrath, Ridley etc

Too many older players think they are untouchable. Hurley, hooker , zaka along with a few figjam types in sheil, smith, Joey doesn’t lead to a cohesive group. In all honesty a rocket needs to be sent to the players and the administration needs a cleanout. The football department is the same puts Harvey in for dodoro. Get Chaplin from Melbourne he is a very well spoken and articulate guy, plus he won’t take any crap I know this firsthand. Get solly back . Dismiss anyone who is soft and can’t tell it how it is. Current generation are too soft and always want a pay on the back. Make them bloody earn it

why not ? he does it on the field alot against opposition teams, and also leads a team that does it alot under his “leadership” to which he wants to pass onto the “boys”.
and i think peoples issue with his comments are, it simply continues to show how tone deaf almost everyone at the club is.

what values does he want to pass on ? cos it’s sure as hell not a winning culture, or a great culture at all. which is where most of the criticism is aimed at.
but hey, as long as heppell likes it right, it’s ok cos all the people inside the club keep telling him how wonderful he is and what a great job he’s doing.
yep everyone else in the footy world is in such awe of how great our footy club is atm. they must be, cos good old dys thinks he’s doing a great job, and that’s all that matters.

I disagree, mark robbo although the pisshead he is brought up a good point.
If people are hanging ■■■■ on the club even if its true someone must fly the flag for the club and say who the hell do you think you are? you cant be saying this about us.
I know what youre saying tho and they obviously know they need to improve but yeah i reckon robos right and heppell is right in what he said.
Just my take, eddie mcquire does it all the time he is wrong on so many occasions but flys the flag for his club no matter what.
Xavier Campbell wont stick up for the club.
He will just go away and strategize on how to minimise brand damage.

The captain doesn’t have to be 'walked over’s, he just has to be fkg honest with himself and the supporters.
