Just had a clip come up on my facebook feed from the 2000 Olympics & it made me ponder - imagine Australia hadn’t won a gold medal since then. Would there be anyone left in the AOC, the institute of sport & anything else connected to Australian sport? FFS EFC have barely gone close to bronze in the last 18 years.

- Daniher will be meeting clubs this week. Rutten and the club want an answer soon. Daniher wants to take more time to see what’s available.
- Saad has a 4 year offer on the table - but now thinks we’re not in a premiership window and won’t see success in the near future (stuff that’s already been said).

Edit - also said that a number of senior players are disgruntled about the TBC decision. Apparently TBC was fit to play but wasn’t selected?
Given the top ten of the B&F the only concern there is Saad.

I don’t like Heppell’s comments, it’s bad leadership, he isn’t taking ownership of the performance. What the former player said was reality, he should own it, use it, build from it. Not sit their deflecting and making excuses like he always does.

Cruelled by that ankle injury. I had one similar and it took a loooonnnggg time to recover. He’s lost pace, kicking and leap.

I reckon we gave TBC 50 games where he wasnt fit. He wasn’t fit at all this year, no way was he fit this week.

They make it sound like TBC was a club champion. FFS he played 130 games in 13 years, says alot of what his performances were like. Had a good stretch in 2017-2018 and that was it.

Seems like Rutten has some balls to make the tough calls if it upsets some at the club so be it I’m sick and tired of us being a soft club.

Any players that are cracking the sads about Bellchambers not getting a game can blow me. How about focusing more on your own performances and not getting upset about a guy who didn’t deserve another game, not getting one

Heppell needs to keep his mouth shut until he has achieved something as both a player and captain of essendon. Taking a cheap shot at a legend of the club is dumb on so many levels. All he had to say was “ lloydy is a champion of the club, so he’s entitled to his opinion. But I don’t agree with his assesment”. If Lloyd’s comments have ticked him off, use it as motivation to prove him wrong next season

Don’t tend to agree with some of your posts and I know this won’t go over too well around here but ■■■■ Heppell. If he played for anyone else the majority of people would think he’s an overrated bogan.
He can shove his yeah nahs & his she’ll be rights up his ■■■■. He’ll played for a decade and outside of this debut season, he’s accomplished nothing of great worth. His body is failing him, he’s as slow as a turtle and has shithouse disposal.
He should be embarrassed having a crack at the likes of Matty Lloyd or Tim Watson who accomplished so much for this once great football club.
He’s easily be my least admired captain in the 40 years I’ve supported the club.

My thoughts exactly. FFS Bellchambers was dead average, and some of his “efforts” over his career have been typical of our club over the past 18 years. If players are upset over that, then they can either suck it up or ■■■■ off

Next year is 40 years since sheedy joined. Imagine, rutten takes on head coach role 2021, make the grand final and lose 2023, then go back to back 2024/2025 haha

I think we forget how good he was in 2014 when he was All Australian and won the B&F. Clearly been hampered by injuries since then, and now has the added responsibility of captaincy.

I dont think anyone forgets how good he was 6 years ago… but that was 6 years ago. hasnt played at that level since
