Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 1, May 2019)

Exactly why saad wants out. Wants a premiership on a platter. Did you notice how many times the opposition played through his man after Connor wasn’t playing? He has always been unaccountable , kicks around corners too often and his disposal is bog average. Send him off to Carlton or even better Sydney

Smack, TBC, Mutch, Begley and Hibberd.

Nino please, he’s cut the absolute deadwood. They were the easiest calls anyone could make.

How does he know paul brasher has been asking questions of employees? Does someone from the club really leak info to this flog or does he just make it up?

“Massive pressure is also mounting on Adrian Dodoro, the Bombers’ list and recruiting manager, and president-in-waiting Paul Brasher has recently been asking a lot of loaded questions to all senior staff as he nears his agreed-to takeover from Lindsay Tanner.”

I agree, the disrespect Heppell showed to proven club champions is disgraceful. As a amateur club historian I can not locate a time that a Essendon captain dished the dirt on prior champions. As for Woosha’s back handed comment on Essendon people. Well I am a Essendon person, born in McCraken Street and had my first little Bomber scarf as a infant in 1956. So John Worsfold how dare you besmirch us Essendon people.

Interesting comments from the EFC VFL president.

At least the younger players are improving.

I guess.

do the BnF results for McGrath and Parish mean the same for the AFL program?

Of course people inside would leak to him. Especially if they’re aggrieved and think there are no other options. You’d be surprised what people will tell you if you ask the right questions. They’ll tell you about themselves, they’ll tell you about their neighbours, their workmates and the bloke down the road. People like to be helpful, they like to feel important.
Try walking around your neighbourhood with a clipboard. Knock on a few doors say you’re investigating something and ask a few question. People are only too happy to spill their guts. They’ll answer all your question and then some you hadn’t thought to ask.

I got a couple things from X Campbells ‘uprisings’ comment.

Either he is again using spin to suggest to those players not happy are not part of a ‘new’ group that care more.

Or,

That the young players are sick of the older players ethic and attitude. And Truck is playing no favours anymore ie-Tbell not afforded game.

I think it’s very much the latter.

As our B&F results show, it’s the younger players that are now the best performed players on our list.

For different reasons, Hooker, Hurley, Heppell, Bellchambers, Zaharakis nowhere to be seen in the Top 10.

A changing of the guard is underway and not before time.

Yes I am truly hoping that’s the case.
As FogDog said, its been a long time coming to see the top 10 full of so many younger players.

The thing that I’ve noticed about Hawthorns Geelongs, and Richmonds sustained success.

Is they have a core group that sets the standard. And even as the list changes, and injuries happen etc…

The standards are maintained, through periods of adversity.

I want to see these boys continue to drive standards,so one day as veterans.

We are seeing them as 30 year olds continuing to influence the draftees coming through. As we have seen the other sides do.

I reckon Hooker was left out because he was not 100% and can handle a young bloke getting a game but was there anything in Hooker and Hurls approaching the coach over Bellchambers not getting a farewell game?
That said, it is Barrett’s job is to get clicks and Essendon supporters are certainly the low hanging fruit right now.

Sounds like you have an interesting hobby!

Out of a very poor year this is a good result.

A far greater scenario than a poor year with ageing players still filling the b&f top tier.

I know that Rids and McG worked hard away from the club and it was recognised. Well done to them both, well deserved.

Many years ago my son was hit by a car coming out of a driveway, while riding his bike. The people just let him get back on his bike and ride off. So I hunted them down. Went around with a clip board and asked questions. Found the people, had witnesses, the works. They were very contrite.
I also worked at DSS for years and it was one of the first things I learned. People want to talk, they want to dob people in who are “doing the wrong thing.”

You don’t see many posts that get so many things wrong.

Who are all these players that they have been playing through since Conor left?

Unaccountable? He is one of the best small defensive backman in the game.

Bog average disposal? 80.7% Disposal Efficiency and 75.7% Kicking Efficiency is above average and a long way from “bog average”
