Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 2, March 2022)

Robbo has pulled together a collection of the simpler posts from Blitz and turned it into an article

Exactly, this is a ziggy job. The review will say whatever X and Brasher want it to say.

In any aspect of the club that relates to actual football or members I always assume the club is making the stupidest possible decisions, underinvesting in systems and processes and people to be effective and they constantly prove you right, despite the 1 in 4/5 year surprise hope raising performance. All of this should have changed with the saga and the business should have been transformed… it’s almost like the same boofheads riding on the coatails of EFC’s prestige are still hanging on to power…

I wonder what in our performances to date, give him that idea? Are we suddenly going to understand the game plan? Is the zone going to magically start working? Are our one-way runners going to suddenly start running both ways? There is zero evidence of any improvement so far.

I’d just like to remind everyone that I called Bullshit after Brashers first video and internal review. How the fark can someone that has been on the board for 10 farking years perform an un-biased review? I don’t care what he says and whether he genuinely believes it, this club is farked because of people like him and X.

As much as I want to see Dodoro gone, the one thing I will defend him on is that it’s damn hard to build a list strategy when the coach and game plan keeps changing. It’s like setting a strategy within the public service knowing that elections are coming. This is why making sure the right people are chosen in the first place. Mahoney to me has that same smell Richardson had, Rutten the same Worsfold had and Murphy the same Crowe had.

Clearly our CEO has no football sense and as it appears neither does our president.

Ziggy report not made public, but an edited summary to cast blame on some at the club, look over there on others.

It’s not a review?

Is there anyone at the club who coukd actually carry out a proper interview process? I’d be worried.

You win the best supporter award!

How can this mob win a Premiership in 2 to 3 years when they can’t even win a home and away game?

I don’t need your participation awards, save them for the team.

and yet here we are, 18 years since our last finals win.

it’s irrelevant about onfield success. think of it like how influencers supposedly garner traction and make money.
it doesn’t matter what the club does on field.

to sponsors campbell can sell the fact they have what 80-90 k members, so therefore there’s 80 k potential product sales (not as simply as that, but x amount of the supporter base will no doubt by ■■■■ from sponsers cos it’s a good way to support the club)

Ironically like a few on here despise facebook, but ultimately it’s the same premise, the football club is not the product being sold, it’s the members who are.

This 100%!

That’s the disturbing thing. I have no idea what metrics give them the idea we can do this. Nothing that has happened so far or is happening can suggest that we are on any correct path.

Did he give me credit??

I think they looked highly incompetent when Worsefold’s contract was extended. Nothing has changed.

it’s amazing that incredibly smart and savvy people like Brasher deliver a laughable synopsis and supporter comfort statement with a straight face ….

You apologize to them for that. You may have hurt their feelings!

You think the same thing didn’t happen at Carlton? They wanted to sack Teague but didn’t want to own the decision.

I don’t agree with the board. I think they are doing a terrible job. But if they conducted a review two years ago, are confident in the people in place because of that, why can’t they look at ways to support the existing group of coaches?

The ‘review’ will be designed to justify their stupid past decisions. Nothing more.
