Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 2, March 2022)

When Knights was given an extension based on nothing… and it cost us a million… it should have raised eyebrows…

We then did the EXACT same thing with Woosha…

That is bad administration.

To me it feels like a breaking point is close. Might be a few more bad losses before everything completely unravels

I’m in the assumption that the club will give Rutten next year to turn things around

If he does go I want Clarkson if not then do a extensive interview process and hire the best coach out there

I thought it was alarming to see on Footy Class that during X. Campbell’s tenure as CEO he’s hired and fired about 5 Footy Dept heads yet Adrian ‘Teflon’ Dodoro remains unscathed.

seriously, what is going on with Dodoro and why is he untouchable when all other key appointments are shot out of the cannon for looking the wrong way?

He’s even survied multiple coaches I dont get it

There has to come a time where the club is like “You know what maybe it’s not the coach or footy dep head maybe it’s the list manager”

20 years in the job, countless of high draft picks and still cant assemble a list capable of winning anything.

Stop being a bunch of ■■■■■■■ and sack the kent ffs

Which would make Marshall $700,000 minimum to get him. The whole story is a distraction

Draper has shown plenty. What are you even watching? He’s unfinished, he’s played 28 games. I wonder what the other elite rucks of the comp were like after 28 games?

Too old for our list. It’s a stupid idea.

The worst thing the club can and most likely will do is belive that the coach is the only problem and move him on while maintaining the structure that keeps making these decisions. Its groundhog day, again.

If we sack yet another coach, no one of any quality will trust their career to the club. Wrong move imo.

The problems with the list balance and the failure to add competitors in favour of “leaders” is at the feet of Dodoro.

The problem with the VFL program is at the feet of the Board and CEO.

The problem of the players giving up when the heat is on is at their feet.

You could argue Rutten was an extension of Whoosha.

Handing extensions and contracts to guys who have proven nothing is bang on. Rutten came in with a defensive game plan, failed to implement it in 2019, we sucked and Rutten got handed a head coaching gig.

Probably because X is a Dodoro lover and wants his outside footy property portfolio. SO anybody that questions X or Dodoro is shown the door.

Nah there is always an Ego ready to take the plunge, see Voss.

If we sack Rotten will be back to square one looking for experience again, throw money at Clarko which will scare the AFL on needing him for Tassie so they will give Clarko a massive Tassie contract and we will end up with Ross Lyon.

Rutten won’t get sacked. This would then pose questions about the decision makers and they don’t want that.

That’s pretty obvious but years away yet - if ever.

He’s a property mogul and hooks them all up. If they sack him they might pi 55 him off and then they lose the hook up. It’s a simple as that isn’t it

It seems to me that a lot of commentary in this thread supposes that no one involved in the coaching or match day management of the team has had any input.

Don’t you think that somebody by now has said “it’s round 8 Truck, it’s about time we try something else”?

I’ve been ot of the Melbourne “bubble” for a few weeks and will be for a few more so not really keeping up with all things red and black, what I am hearing is a lot of heat on footy departments, coaches and executive which is warranted, but is there any actual heat on the guys that go out on the ground and stink it up week in week out, you know pro footy players who can’t kick, handball and tackle, you know all things you should be farkin brilliant at as professional.

The fascinating thing is that most of the board hasn’t been around that long. It’s really just Brasha that has been there for a long period.
