Scott is the only person I can genuinely say comes across as having integrity at the club.

luckily he did his due dillignece before accepting so he knows the shitshow he was walking into haha

So you know all the staff? That’s impressive.

Think of the staff morale with the leadership shown by the Board.
The external review has been corrupted, confidentiality can’t be assured, all of their positions are under review.
As with the Thorburn appointment, there can be no certainty that the review would be objective, that the Board won’t play favourites
Annus horribilis

Sheedy got out Sheedyied by Barham and as a result feels the need to sook via his cheerleader in the media.

The jig is up Sheeds, resign your position on the board before you do any further damage to your legacy.

Just read on the Herald Sun website, The biography of Kevin Sheedy - written by Mark Robinson.

*I’m still ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  off to find out the whole ā€˜process’ was the usual EFC charade though.

Barham has a lot to answer for with his processes and the damage he’s done to the way the club functions.
He pulled it off with Scott, a well received appointment .
But it’s been downhill all the way since and does not inspire confidence that the new broom will be better than the old.
He is not going to get there by sweeping the dirt under the carpet.

Original Wog Boy - yep, enjoyed it.
Wog Boy 2 - hmm, probably should have kept it at one.
Wog Boy 3 - i learned my lesson after 2, no thank you.

I can’t see any way back for the club without a complete board spill. We need to put a hard stop against the current administration and start fresh.

Even if Hird was promised the job Brad is the right choice anyway

I doubt that Barham will last in the medium to long term and I think that he knows this - he’s already stepped on too many toes. To be honest I don’t really care as long as he can make some proper structural changes to the manner in which this club operates.

What he did though re selecting the new coach was skilfully executed. It has now become obvious that Sheedy moved with the others on Rutten to get Hird back. Barham identified this and ensured that a coaching subcommittee was assembled that would negate Sheedy’s influence. The fact that Robbo has reported that Sheedy thought that it would be just he and Barham making the final call on the coach really does display just how self-centred and out of his depth he has become.

I can’t keep up with everything that’s going on anymore.

Just start the club again from scratch.

We still have a W season to run.
Can’t imagine how the W side of the club
is coping.
Trust there are some calming influences there.

Essendon people can’t solve this problem cause they are Essendon people. And the Essendon people who think they can solve it with the help of other people can’t, because they are like Essendon people. Who are essendon people? The board? The coterie members? The second tier sponsor? The corporates that get the season seat at Marvel? The spurned ex committee member that gets the odd invite? The champion player that after his fourth crowny declares ā€œI am this clubā€ cause I kicked an ok goal in the escort cup 50 years ago?

A footy club, or at least as far as what I can see here, is supported by people that go out into it day after day, slog through interest rates, cost of living, poor wages, fickle employer, lack of employer, sick kids, pandemics, climate change, legal trouble, crime, dysfunctional families, infirm parents, and a media hell bent on harnessing all this on keep us at a heightened sense of anxiety cause the next panics about to set the world alight.

Maybe all they need is to see is their footy club return just one small favour, get their $hit together and tell us you were there for us, we are here for you.

A flicker, a pulse. A semblance of calm. Purpose. Foresight, initiative, bravery, any GOD DAMN thing to show they fkng care about who might actually be the real Essendon people.

Just a little respect for the you and me’s that used to matter the most. Emotionally, financially and physically it’s a bridge too far now.

I don’t think any of those afore mentioned ā€œEssendon peopleā€ think about how the club they think they represent shapes ordinary supporters lives.

Until that’s fixed I’m not coming back.

That’s about it. Certainly not an employer of choice.

Feels the same mate. Fucken hopeless supporting this team when it’s treated as a plaything fiefdom for incompetent corporates
