I don’t understand why someone didn’t call Clako’s manager and check if he’d seriously consider our offer or not. In hindsight it seems pretty unlikely that he’d go back in months of work with North already. Could’ve fired Truck on Sunday and started the review

We probably did.

Manager gets back to us to put forward an offer and we did, the problem is we should have put a 24hr deadline on a decision, instead we let him control the timeline on the decision.

Clarkson’s manager informs North that he will meet with Essendon and informs them of our offer then leaks it to the media.

Then the North interim coach and past players come out in the media with the typical emotional blackmail, please come to North, you’re a shinboner. If he was never going to consider our offer like he said in his press conference then why make North nervous, you’ve already made your decision.

Next minute North announce that they will start exploring plan b, I’m guessing a revised offer was put to Clarkson.

He didn’t take our drug money, but he sure as hell squeezed every last tin rattling dollar he could from them and exposing us for the amateurs we are at the same time, well played Clarkson.

All we needed to do was pick up the phone and ask if he was open to waiting till the week after the finals before making a decision, that’s along time to wait if you’re not serious about contemplating it.

If the answer is no then thank him for his time and hang up the phone, if he says I need to see an offer first then you thank him for his time and hang up the phone.

I just want us to be better and not worry about the public perception which seems to have changed to be the most important thing these days.

This will be frustrating from the lack of info and i am very sorry about that. I have had interesting conversations this morning and feel a lot less stressful knowing this club may actually finally have a chance of turning itself around. Things that i had concerns on looks like will be finally addressed. Proof will be in the results for sure.

i reckon a big problem with our club is the complete lack of transparency. not saying we should respond to any and everything, but for f*** sake say something that hasn’t passed through 6 layers of corporate sterilisation

• at the start of the year, why didn’t the club come out and say “we’re rebuilding, we expect to perform relatively poorly compared to last year”? did they think memberships would suffer? are we so financially unstable that saying so would cripple us? because an alternative timeline has played out that’s going to impact the club far worse
• why doesn’t the club publish any form of review findings?
• why does all our bad news come out as a leak of sorts?
• who in hell f*** are the coteries? like, what are their names? if they’re so successful, how are they managing to relentlessly destroy our club?
• why have the last two coaches been so avoidant of revealing any tactical insights in their press conferences? i appreciate there’s competitive advantage in holding ones cards close to their chest, but give us something
