Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 3, August 2022)

My Intel suggests Clarko chose the job at North specifically because he likes vertical stripes.

Nothing against the club.

Make of that what you will :man_shrugging::wink:

Note: Thank you @handypoint :joy:

Any review that doesn’t lead to the instant dismissal of Campbell and Dudoro is a Clayton’s review.

Surely Campbell can’t survive this. He’s taken a huge gamble on the succession plan which is going to fail spectacularly. There’s nowhere to hide now

All these conflated issues it is tough to keep up. Seemingly the coach will bear the brunt of the failures indicative that on field success would have hidden the toxic nature of the club as a whole and that most people would be quite happy to have a toxic club as long as they are getting wins. This is what an external review will uncover, people, processes and systems in place to SUPPORT the operations.

It seems from reporting that the split board were never unanimous about the coach, and it pained me to see that this political infighting saw the likes of Sheedy all but ignore a young coach and offered no support. This ‘Not one of my people’ perspective incentivises failure. When you create these zero-sum environments it puts enemies in the camp and someone has to lose. Even anti-Truckers must have some notion that this scenario seriously crippled a young coach’s chances of success.

So Truck, without support fought through the year with a divided club, with influential members working against him… to ultimately be thrown into one of the more embarrassing, public and desperate coach grab attempts that we have ever witnessed.

I hope he finds his place and in a supportive culture finds success and then every time he coaches against us he shoves it up us. And when our supporters boo him, which they will of course, he wears it with a smile and remembers this poor club full of ghosts, and instead of killing them and moving on, they just keep making more.

Or maybe he is a terrible coach and Hirdy comes back and we win 5 flags and everything is fine.

Burning Down The House has a lot of relevance too.

Is this from you ? Who was it directed to? Get a response?

I like it… I’m not pro Hird but that kind of had me reconsidering my stance.

This will sound controversial, and extremely unlikely given past few days, but we could stick with Rutten. But we need to appoint a Football Director to help him out. We need an unanimous board to stick with Rutten, but give him some unconditional KPIs for 2023. If he fails those at half year, then expect his contract will not be extended and we are searching for a new coach. He can walk or be replaced at any time after the bye. Leadership group need to be chosen carefully - we can cry all we like with the lack of on field leaders but we gotta work with what we have. Me? I would go Merrett as capt and you take your pick for VC and DVC. Have their fun in Spain but anyone back unfit will not train with the main group until they are ready.

Rest has been said b4, sack X, sack Dodo…they’re just no brainers.

Any potential candidate that comes out publicly and speaks against the club is already out of the running.

The club/board are so insular they wouldn’t allow it.
