Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 3, August 2022)

I was told he will likely not be at the club next year.

Soft tissue injuries being the main reason why.

Yep. Kind of flat now…

It was Clarko

It’s like they are surprised that their actions have consequences…

Yep, they are just as much to blame. Complete prima donnas. Someone needs to be strong enough to pull them into line otherwise fark them off!

I find that coaches often get far more credit than they deserve. If you look at the list the Hawks had when Clarko won the flags, it was full of gun players. On the other hand, recruiters don’t get the credit or punishment that they deserve eg Dodoro.

Likewise.

Clarkson. I also rate Yze.

Basically, we’ve left it so late that we’re going down the rungs of coaches available.

But then again - I wouldn’t have had McRae at the top of the list last year and look how they turned out.

Agree

Reckon we need a full clean out

Yea true.

These players, especially the senior players. ALWAYS have excuses ready for their own short comings. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least that after we get belted by Richmond, they will come out with some excuse about how it was distracting during the week and it hampered their preparation.

This squad loves an excuse

Agreed.

I would have loved Clarko mainly for his ruthlessness.
He’s obviously a fantastic coach but at some point the game passes everyone by.
Clarksons last 5 (yes half a decade) years at Hawthorn were not good.

I’m just concerned by the press conference today that they’re not doing a complete clean out.

If Rutten goes, Campbell should automatically go as well. Not sure why he’s getting so much support internally?!

Most of us would be put on notice or sacked for that display.

But no, they decry the treatment of the voach they themselves put in this situation.

If they didn’t like the direction of the gameplan etc then ■■■■■■■ go to the board and make representations.

Don’t treat us and the coach with embarrassing, petulant performances.

Because he will cost us a bomb in a payout

The club should have picked up Ruttens calls on Monday or Tuesday whenever yhis ■■■■ show started.

That is down right disrespectful.

If they believe the coach is fine and is doing his job, that means that it’s them as players that aren’t meeting their requirements.

So are they basically saying they’re below standards?

They can’t have it both ways.

I can agree that the treatment of Rutten this week wasn’t appropriate. However, he was always in danger of losing his job based on the performances this year.

Yeah you know, the whole Clarkco thing is kind of irrelevant in someways.

Seriously, we just need to focus on the positives out of this.
There is a very real chance that this is a line in the Sand moment and everybody is gonna get theirs in the end
, hopefully from the CEO all the way down through the football administration down to the players hopefully everyone gets held accountable.
The short-term may be a little terrible but in the longer term this is the line in the sand moment and maybe there will be light in the tunnel, not too far down the track.

Most people around here where expecting this would happen but many years off into the future so hopefully it has just accelerated the inevitable and maybe we won’t be doomed for the next 10 years

Didn’t know where to post this. Here will do.

Rutten must have known he would be on a knifes edge.

Its the lack of picking up his calls that i have issue with.

Whatever we think of him as a coach he deserved someone to pick up his call.
