It’s not just to the current list either. It telegraphs to any other FA types that we’re desperate and is more likely to attract lower quality fringe players, which I’d argue limits us to finding quality players to the draft almost exclusively.
We couldn’t even have an entrant in the GF Sprint.
Admittedly, who ever it would have been would have struggled to beat Harry Garside.
I believe our last entrant was P. Ryder
I think that is the very least of our issues right now.
It just encapsulates how anonymous we are on any stage.
And also how little pace we have throughout our list.
Sorry, but, I don’t agree.
We should be flying the flag, trying to encourage our young supporters.
After seeing how the way Brisbane prefomed today really makes me worry how far behind the 8 ball we are as a club. Today they showed how united as a club they were. It makes me really scared for our future.
Focus on enjoying the Journey, don’t worry about the Destination for a while.
Just shows how if you get the right coach the culture can change. We need our own Fagan
I still remember the day the players were leaving Brisbane before Fagan came in, the place was in ruins. Now it’s a god damn empire. One can only hope we can do something like this. But I have to say signs are not that positive so far.
We can already see Brad doesn’t inspire loyalty
He doesn’t demand it.
Maybe doesn’t inspire an injury riddled 27 year old ruckman and a 30 year old Captain with dubious leadership qualities, but the young blokes have certainly actioned on their loyalty.
The answer to the title of this thread. If we replaced 5 or so of our many Bust Picks with the following.
Charlie Curnow, H McKay, Dawson, Dunkley, Rioli, Doedee, S Collin’s, Mcluggage, Shai Bolton, Tom Stewart, Miers, Fogarty, Bailey, Ed Richards, T dekoning, O Allan, T Kelly, Frisch, T Mcartin, Tom green, Kosi Pickett, Will Day, Trent Rivers, Windhager, Max Holmes, Shannon Neale, Georgiades, Sam de koniMy, Humphrey, Weddle
we wouldnot have this thread.
Disagree, we’d still be ■■■■. We take wine and turn it into water, any player we have that’s ended up A grade hasn’t been because of our clubs development
For me, this year has clearly been a massive step in the right direction. I think the wins will start pouring in very very soon.
if we win 5 games next season i’ll be shocked, wrapped, but shocked
Too many vanilla panic merchants on the list to see many wins next year
I don’t know - I think if you have the talent and the application then you are good no matter where your are.
hard to imagine, Curnow, Kosi, Jordan Dawson,Tom Green, Max Holmes, Dunkley being ■■■■ players.
If we are bad at development why is zerret so good.
That should be obvious, outliers don’t prove trends, a question is why is Merrett he only elite player we’ve produced in the last 15 years.
-edit-
I’d also suggest Tippa, but I’d also argue his success was largely his ability over our development of said ability, and his development was largely down to personal development not so much football
