I understand Zaka taking ā ā ā ā over his comments because thats the way the world works, but I think heās entitled to an opinion and Iād rather blunt honesty than playing happy families for sake of the kids - especially when heās only saying what half the people on this forum have said already. As a club, we worry too much what other people think.
As for Sollyās email, I applaud the sentiment and undoubted sincerity, but it shouldnāt mean we turn a blind eye to bullsh1t.

- The Vozzo drug speech was a nothing story
- Merrett meeting an opposition coach on the sly while using the media to do his dirty work reflects more poorly on him than the club
- Barham was a hot headed moron who served his purpose and fell on his sword to our benefit
- Gutting the strength and conditioning team was well overdue but better late than never

Iāve sat in these meetings; they happen all the time and not just on drugs. They happen on alcohol, respect to women, racial vilification and issues like that. Players have these meetings monthly at a club and I cannot believe a group of Essendon players ran to the Players Association and had a sook and a cry.

Because EFC is family, and family want the best for each other, so we can say pretty much what we feel. We come from a genuine position. These outside ā ā ā ā ā ā ā are trying to tear us down. Give them nothing. They love our sadness, They want more. The Royals have a good motto āNever complain, never explainā. Thatās the Bombers I remember.

Jesus the Essendon supporter base are weak. No intestinal fortitude and canāt help themselves to talk crap without knowing anything. A bad season due to record injuries and people want to blow the organisation up, even after the club has put treatment plans in place with Inness and Regan coming onboard. And poor old Zachy poos wants out to the wees and poos and is having stories leaked left, right and centre until he gets his way. I donāt know about you but this makes me want to fight for and support the club more than tear it apart when no one really has all of the FACTS!

Granted. But Iām sure we also all accept the fact the club has been a poorly run basket case for a long time and members etc are going to need to see a lot more evidence of things being turned around before they start Looking on the bright side and I donāt think you can begrudge them that. Positive views on the club are coming from a place of blind optimisM and an engrained love for the club really, as Opposed to any real fruits that justify that view.
without those āold hacksā there would be no Essendon today.

Spot on. Canāt see anything wrong with what Zaka said. Look at how rabid many of us get in here and heās been a lifetime supporter and >200 game player in that jumper.
My take is Davidās feeling disappointed that some of the senior group are sooking it up and leaking harmful info when in reality they donāt have all that much to whine about. Especially when you compare their wage rates and conditions to the 2012 to 2018 playing group.
The average playing wage is ~80% higher when comparing 2012 to 2024. Inflation has not increased anywhere near that amount.
Best to aim the frustration at the leaking players rather than David for a 5 minute interview on Triple M.
