Might be a bit abrasive for a Sunday morn.
This song…kind of annoys me, but I also kind of love it.
First time I’ve heard that, like it.
I’ll save my piece of cheese for a bit later.
Would love a copy of the promotional vinyl, if anyone’s thinking of Christmas presents.

This song…this is an amazing song.
It’s gotta be one of the best songs of all time.
And this is a very, very, very good version.
It seems i posted this in June 2017.
Well, its time for a repeat posting.
I know Dimma would agree, if he was still around…
Was driving Sunday night and happened on Brian Nankervis interviewing Lisa Millar the TV Journo on 3 pivotal songs. This apparently came up from some press conference early in her career when Keating noted it as his favourite song, and did a little dance to it (or something, wasn’t listening closely). Then Milllar years later interviewed Gladys Knight and confessed to butchering the song at countless karaokes!
The Renee Geyer version loses nothing in comparison IMO!
Interesting story about the song evolution, from wiki. Jim Weatherly wrote it after ringing his mate Lee Majors, who was out. Farrah Fawcett answered and mentioned she was packing for the midnight plane to Houston. Weatherly wrote the song off those few words in 45 mins, and he recorded it. It was later picked up by Cissy Houston, who changed the lyric from plane to train as her family wasn’t used to planes, and to Georgia to avoid confusion with her name. It became a smash with the Gladys Knight version…
Checking out some songs on the 'tube as you do. Came across a Toto song I had never heard of. Blown away. Of course we all know Africa, Rosanna, Hold the Line, but the back catalog of songs are where you find some amazing performances I had never heard, let alone not heard of in years. Toto is now actually a group of studio musos who moonlight in a band . Outstanding musicians in whatever combo of personnel they had at any given time.
Doing the Triple J 1995 Hot Hundred in honour of Coolio, this morning.
Some good gear.
Honestly haven’t heard this in forever.

I watched a YouTube performance of Nessun Dorma a few weeks ago.
When it comes to opera I don’t know nuffin’ about nuffin’ but ■■■■■■■ Pavorotti had a great voice.
Which reminds me…
