Who are his two witnesses?

After years of hoping this ■■■■ would go away, the last thing the club would want to do is ‘sue the media’

Alex, How’s the application going to join AFL media?

Lol yes very clever

But…but…you said no one is interested!?

correct

Yes, and made him a life member.

Yes indeed, the release of these documents is very important.

…let’s just consider the implications if McDevitt was NOT actually provided evidence of a possible violation by the ADVRP?

Then include in your considerations the fact that Hayden Opie, who chaired the ADRVP at the time, was also a member of CAS and a CAS Arbitrator.

That means, both the ADVRP and the AFL ADT say the players are not guilty.

I suspect the retired judge (forgot his name) that reviewed ASADA’s case before the show cause notices were issued also indicated ASADA didn’t have a reasonable case. The reason I am suggesting this is because once the judicial review was completed, McDevitt did an interview on ABC radio asking the players to “fess up and ASADA will go easy on you”.
At the time, I thought this was a strange interview indeed.

I wonder why they (and the AFL) are resisting the release of those documents. FOI requests shouldn’t be that difficult unless you have something to hide.

I found the progression of the “investigation” to the show cause notices already suspicious at the time, but the way they are acting is only increasing my suspicion. The documents may contain information that clarifies that the Thymosin administered as part of the supplements program could not have been reasonably linked to the banned substance TB4. What I think happened is that they latched onto TB4 after discovering that they could not pursue the players for AOD, which initially was the centre piece supplement of the investigation. They probably saw Thymosin and immediately interpreted it as TB4 to save face and cover up the error in their judgement. It seems like they were only ever after a guilty verdict and didn’t care how they reached it.

I think the only reason the AFL would oppose the release of those documents is to cover themselves for the punishment they handed out to Essendon and for stripping Watson off the Brownlow medal.

If those documents prove that they didn’t have enough evidence (even at a circumstantial level), then this is going to get very messy for the AFL.
I don’t believe they can prove that TB4 was ever administered to the players.

I would suggest you are close to what could be considered a good outcome. That is to discover that ASADA (McDevitt) “doctored” evidence and omitted critical evidence that suited a pre-determined outcome. This outcome would confirm that the player’s stance was the correct and taking the ASADA option was not a consideration. I am not sure how it will impact on the court of public opinion.

It’s the media that I hope gets the biggest reaming.

Should the bastardry finally be proven, I’d reasonably expect a class action from Essendon supporters that breaks the media’s ■■■■■■■ balls and bank accounts. I’d like written apologies published and for that shrill battleaxe Wilson being forced to hand back her Walkley award.

In the meanwhile I’ve not paid for a newspaper or news subscription since The Saga. They can go get ■■■■■■.

But that’s just me - and how angry I still am over the stitch up.

It would make me so happy if Jobe is given his Brownlow back. It would be so messy for the AFL to have to ask for Cotchin and Mitchell to give those medals back.
Imagine the journalists asking Mitchell “Do you think you deserved that Brownlow?” I honestly don’t know how he would answer or at least what he would really think. Scumbag.

I suspect Alex is regretting jumping into this thread

Didn’t we also have trouble proving what was given? This opened the door for McPasty and co to go down the TB4 route.

Unfortunately, the club can’t prove that it WASN’T administered, because their paperwork was so ■■■■. This is what the bastards have and will hang their hats on. It does my head in.

It all changed the night Jobe said he has used AOD on on the couch …correct me if im wrong what show it was.

thats when the investigation changed towards another substance.

if AOD was illegal he would have been charged the next day over AOD
