Speculation on the team to pile on the Cats - 2020 round 16

I’m not sure Gleeson could play on a wing now. I don’t think he has ever fully recovered back to his best, post ankle injury. The run and drive he used to show has been lacking. Now he’s more of a pure defender with limited attacking attributes. This lack of attacking intent may also be a symptom of Saad coming to the club and McKenna also becoming more accomplished.

Well Guinness does certainly taste better in Ireland.

What do you reckon about Redman on Rohan in a straight 1-on-1 role?

I’ve got a bloody sausage roll on this game.

We better get up.

On the club site, Shiel is saying Daniher is set for Geelong game.
No rest for the wicked.

“I think he’s pulled up really well after the Eagles game and should be fine to go again this Sunday,”

The club took the slow approach with Joe to make sure that when he was back playing footy, he wasn’t in for week and out for one week, and that he was back to play full-time.

…knowing you can have such a big impact on the performance of the team. We’ve certainly missed him in the previous months."

You are not wrong Dylan. We look like a totally different side.

Playing less game time + shorter quarters in 2020 + sitting on boundary line fence when he can = no need to be ‘managed’

So, they will name the team on Saturday night then, under the new Queensland COVID bubble norm?

I don’t like the idea of Redman playing on an in form forward ATM.
Still, if it had to be him or Gleeson for that job, I’d go Redman.

I know ‘ol Gil sucks and is infinitely dense, but that’s a bit harsh.

I wrote this in another thread but it’s probably more appropriate here- if anyone has inside info about training times tomorrow I’ll try & get there.
(On Tuesday night I was not going to watch any more games for the season… but you know how it goes- 2 days later you’re looking forward to the next one. We must surely be masochists).

I was thinking of making the viewing a bit more interesting on Sunday. Knowing we’re most likely to get thumped.

Maybe doing a drinking game and having a shot whenever Essendon get a goal.

I’d do it for every time the Cats got a goal but I think I may end up in hospital with alcohol poisoning in that case.

Pretty much mirrors my thoughts. I think Redman is out of form as a distributor or whatever it is they have him trying to do, but I reckon a simple assignment could boost him up a bit in a get-back-to-what-you-know kind of way.

McGrath aside …

“We also have a couple of other players that have pulled up sore (from the West Coast game). We will give them every opportunity to prove their fitness with decisions on their availability to be made later in the week”

You gotta drive somewhere afterwards?

If you’re in lockdown you’re not going far! Please disregard if you have freedom and liberty and are outside of Victoria!

I’m in Victoria. And one of the original hot suburbs - so 9 weeks of lockdown and counting!

I just think if I went with a shot every time Geelong got a goal, I would be paralytic. Essendon seems like a responsible choice.

Unless it’s a shot every time we get a behind as well??

If it’s behinds you could be hammered by second quarter! Joe could give you a lazy sixer just on his own!

I see no combination that we make the 8 with 2 more wins.

Who cares who they bring in and out .seasons over ,might as well forfeit the rest of the games ,get a jump on preseason.does other team cop the same schedule as essedon, we played the west coast on Tuesday ,and then we play Geelong on Sunday

Unless the Dees choke against the Swannies tonight (which is looking possible)
