Should probably be under the 'Spring Carival' thread as that rarely gets used anyway.

 

For what its worth I had a couple of bets last month which were Fawkner at $101 and Dear Demi at $31... hoping for a good barrier draw tomorrow.

I would have happily collected a k on a $6 bet for Dear Demi's jockey dropping the whip in the last fifty.
I think DD is where the FF gets short. No way punters thought she was 30s, and a lot would have had her in flexible multis.

i wouldnt have knocked it back either lol my mate hit it for 7%  i was guessing around 24k for the prices of the winners tho your right everyone had dear demi in for a place most likely as popular as hawkspur

 

didnt see that jockey dropped the whip ... would have been frustrating after that ride from a wide barrier .

 

only 10 starters in the geelong cup coming up

Ok fellas, totally without any knowledge on horses, but am going to bbq and tab with mates Cup Day. Where does my money go that doesn't make me look like an ignorant ■■■■?

I've always liked Its a Dundeel,but i'm very wary of Green Moon,the Williams boys set their horses for the big races..

My Grandmother had a bet in the Melbourne cup every year, was the only race she bet on..knew nothing about horses....won more than didn't....certainly more than me...
But if you want to have a play here are some things that may help...
1. I always like a horse that has run 2 mile before
2. Lloyd Williams Lloyd Williams Lloyd Williams ....whatever he runs will have a huge show
3 Not usually a fan of the imports but there are big wraps on them this year
4. I've never been of the opinion that barrier draw means much at this distance.

I expect Shinn to do a Williams  Ride a top melb Cup chance ( Fiorente ) three wide attacking for the lead and finish midfield. Then you get better odds in the Melbourne Cup.

close yesterday , would have been some nice spending money for the cox plate

allso had moudre into nadhima for 4 bux ((((  3rd n 3rd  and a protest 3rd v 2nd dismissed ! doh !
