Love, love, love, loved it.
Can’t wait to see it again!

I wonder if I am one of the few people that have enjoyed all the Star Wars films on some level…
Yeah the dialogue in the prequels is so sterile, but what I enjoyed about those films was the big creative Star Wars design sets and all the worlds and characters crammed in that Lucas and his team developed…those films lacked memorable character development and dialogue but had great scenery and epic sabre battles( Star Wars on roids ))
Hard for me to go past TFA as the go to Star Wars film though…it’s the only Star Wars film where everything feels about right, empire strikes back also felt like that…but with TFA everything uses modern technologies and just looks state of the art. It’s like the Rolling Stones of Star Wars films. Jagger in a storm trooper helmet …it all just rocks and works for some reason…
Let’s not forget all the great lines, there are loads of memorable quotes in this film…
This has to be the most anticipated blue ray release for a long time in terms of a new film…
Definitely requires suspension of disbelief. As does every Star Wars movie. After reading the script, there are a lot of little notes that I didn’t pick up during the movie. For example:
It’s REY who charges now – Kylo Ren immediately on the defensive. They BATTLE POWERFULLY – He is clearly rocked by her raw, innate skill.
I didn’t think that he was “rocked” by her innate skill. More surprise/curiosity/intrigue than anything else.
l finally got around to seeing it on the weekend, twice. On Saturday i went to the iMax downtown with 4 people from work. Great picture, but only 4 channel sound. On Sunday it was at something called 4D, where the seats move when certain characters get jolted, wind blows through when various spacecraft fly past, lights flash and foam rains down during the snow storm. Not that it detracted from the movie.
The 4D cost about 1/3 of the iMax ticket.
The new characters are worthy, but the coincidences leading back to the very first movie, were just a little too pat in places. There is homage, and then there is the next step. l would have preferred a little more original plot. The various rescues were just too easy as well, and the dialogue in places, like the planning of the assault on the star killer, was little short of trite. It was good to see Han Solo back with his crooked smile, but his death was a bit too predictable. l think l was the only one in the whole cinema who laughed at his line to Princess Leia, about her change of hair style, it wasn’t much of a change. Leia unfortunately has lost all of her spark and zip, and l agree with others that Fisher’s performance was a bit wooden. The good news is we have Fin and Rey V Ren round 2 coming up. Plus Luke will answer the call and return in a big way. Snook is the most intriguing character left to develop. Looking forward to it.
Does leia have a snow scene in any of these

I’m with you I think. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy The Phantom Menace on some level, because despite it being the worst Star Wars film, there were some aspects of it I did actually like. I was 17 when it came out. Teenage Natalie Portman was one of those things. And I thought the light saber battles were cool as ■■■■ too.
I just find it sad the amount of guys who try to over intellectualise star wars, you ar not clever and you are no fun!!
i saw it again the other night. I enjoyed it more than the first, but stand by my original comments. this JJ’s response to the ‘it’s a remake’ complaint

Haters gonna hate
She won't have virgin status for much longer if Finn has anything to do with it.
If this film is a New Hope reboot, can we be certain Rey and Finn aren’t brother and sister?

If true, that’s a dog’s act by Lando

What happens in Mos Eisley doesn’t always stay in Mos Eisley…

Ha. I was just about to post:
"Damn it Charlie, those kids dicks are bigger than them sausages! "

Ha! I was looking for that scene on YouTube.
Hey Charlie, ever noticed how the kids seem to have a year-long tan?
Too many great moments in that film to mention. I’m a big Whitey fan myself.
Sometimes small things in movies ■■■■ me off.
Like, why does she park her speeder a zillion metres from where she is scavenging parts, then has to toboggan down a sand dune, probably getting sand in her outfit, and risking someone knocking off the speeder for scrap.
Couldn’t just park it right by the crashed destroyer?
