Succession Season 4 Spoiler THREAD (May contain traces of spoilers)

This really is the bottom line, isn’t it. More than satisfied with how it panned out.

The unresolved Mencken situation was a minor surprise. There was (I think) one brief reference to “on-going court issues” but that was all. A very small loose end in the bigger picture.

Stunning series that will sweep award season.

“We’re bullsh1t!”

Roman summed up the whole thing so neatly.

So where does this sit for people on their ‘All time’ favourite TV show list?

I think it slots into my top 5. Not sure the exact spot, but it’s up there.

Sopranos then Succession

The translator said that Shiv wasn’t getting the job but don’t think he knew Tom would get it.

Edit: Greg would have chosen whichever side benefitted himself, am sure.

It took me a while to get into the show, nearly gave up on it but @CalDon and @Koala advised me to stick with it and glad I listened to them.

Can’t say where it sits, but I enjoyed it and maybe one day will watch again as am sure I missed some bits as I was trying hard to keep pace with them. Like when you’re so engrossed in watching the footy you miss bits.

However, will say as far as the sometimes-frenetic pace, the shows quality and the acting by all, it was fantastic.

Maybe I can only know in time if I have the desire to watch it all again, like The Wire, Sopranos, and Breaking Bad. It might sit just below them on a Mad Men, Six Feet Under level for me. I’m glad they wrapped it all up in four seasons.

Yeah that’s similar to me

Wire and Breaking Bad are my goats(never watched sopranos properly).

Then a bunch that are hard to order including mad men, dark, leftovers, six feet under, Mr robot etc. For me succession easily joins that second group not entirely sure where though.

HBO knows how to make great TV.

Our lists are very, very similar.

Severance is the only active show that I think could challenge in the future. But it has a long way to go.

How sad is it that GOT is nowhere near it?

GoT was well positioned, but the last couple of seasons I even started groaning and disliking a lot of it. Lost could’ve been all-time as well.

Bring on the next single-worded “S” show!

Yeah first half of GOT was easily on the list, it’s still up there but definitely destroyed the goodwill with later seasons.

Then seen where Shiv and Roman mimicked Ken had me laughing out loud

Top 5 tv series for me.

The clue was in Tom’s last name all along.

Only player in World Series history to get an unassisted triple play (Kendall, Shiv, Roman)

Much has been made of Shiv’s “motivation” in going with Mattson despite him knifing her. This piece explains it as well as I’ve seen.

Just watched the 1st ep. What a pack of rsoles! We were tossing up whether to keep going. No redeeming qualities in any of them. Marcia about the only one who seems to have any humanity.

You will never come to like any of them, occasionally you might start coming around to one of them, but they will then do something to stop that!

I was exactly the same, Horrible the lot of them.

@CalDon and @Koala told me to stick with it, so am passing on their advice to you. :slightly_smiling_face:

Stick with it.
