Sydney def Essendon: Do you want to talk about it?

I’m currently psychotic if that helps?

Yes we are a pretty decent team overall. We played essentially just shy of one 1/4 and nearly won (shoulda woulda coulda). There is a lot to actually be positive about.

I will scream this until I die from lack of oxygen, we need to draft and trade for a better midfield. It will only take one or two better players in there and we will be almost unstoppable.

We choked worse than South Africa ever has in cricket

Hep is talking ■■■■

Cannot believe we let that one go. Made so many basic errors in the last 4 minutes. There is no way a side should concede 20pts in 4 minutes.

Absolutely soul destroying.

As soon as Goddard’s kick was smothered you knew Sydney would win.

yeah…I mean…what would he know right?

Disagree, we are in desperate need of a clearance beast. Throw money at Hopper, anyone who can win a god damn clearance.

I have never witnessed anything more Essendon in my life.

Unfortunate lost.

Still confused why we didn’t go with Craig Bird, who is primed for the SCG conditions.

Fk that hurts huh?! Had it in the bag yet gave it away. Goddard only had to get the ball to a contest outside 50 but gets the kick smothered. How often does that happen to us?! Long term, that’ll do us some good.

The learnings will be invaluable. Joey & Hurls marks were terrific but they made horrible decisions afterwards. The goals we gifted them early cost us. Howlett missing McKernan out of the centre in the shadows of three quarter time proved costly too.

No doubt we’re all hurting but that is overall a positive performance. It’s been a while since we’ve been ultra competitive interstate against a quality opponent & our last two trips to Sydney have been really positive. Bring on next week.

Firstly, relax, we’ll be playing some finals, and we may win a few. Tonight is disappointing, but it’s only one game - and though we lost, is some proof that we can match it with the toughest teams in the comp on their own turf. We are the real deal.

And yes, we made some catastrophic mistakes. I doubt we could do it again if we tried. Daniher should have gone long to the boundary or lateral to a man. The worst possible outcome after the last point was a smother and a boundary throw in. Long to the boundary 60 metres out or short to the pocket and a safe possession was the go. Even then, we should have had an outnumber in the goal square - probably Joe.

The good news we’ll learn from that. We’re a contender - more so than Sydney will be.

Im ■■■■■■■ ■■■■■■ too! Want to kick on. But stuck in blitz will have to arrange something tommoz night. Go
Porte tour de france! All australia need to get behind this bloke, little
Aussie battler.

Been a long time we’ve been this good, players couldn’t even believe it, so they froze that last couple minutes.

Gees it was funny watching Franklin trying to intimidate McGrath. Then Hurley grabs him by the scruff and eyeballs him, and Franklin sh*ts himself.

I haven’t raged like that after a game since vickery kicked the match sealing goal in one of the dreamtime games.

My foot is in pain atm after unleashing it on an object.

All those saying this will spur us into a winning streak? On what possible ■■■■■■■ evidence will a loss like this spur us on? We ■■■■■■ the whole season tonight and will be lucky to win two of the next six.

Will never do anything while we ■■■■ these games off.

Shower of ■■■■.

Franklin 0 goals. Kudos Hartley. Probably deserved votes!’

Yeah…it took 3 and a half quaters until players tired and the game opened up. All of a sudden there was space and our running game started working.

As soon as we started to use up spare time the wheels fell off.
