Tac/u18 Thread

Look, you can try and talk around it but the club clearly sees those two as better now. So you’re saying don’t play our strongest team and that 2018 doesn’t matter. That’s tanking.

Yes I am saying I think 2018 is done, while mathematically possible I think we have little chance of making the finals.

Tanking is playing to lose. I don’t think playing a few kids in place of players who (in my view) won’t be at the club next year is tanking.

Not playing your best side at the end of the year is absolutely tanking.

There’s tanking … and then there’s tanking! 1vqk20

It’s far more important to set up a winning culture than it is to try and improve our draft spot by a few spots. Francis, Ridley should get games though, and the kids that are playing should be given more responsibility; parish and mcgrath played in the guts for example

It will be interesting where West, Stocker and Caldwell end up going on draft night

I heard kemp is a serious bolter for calder. Haven’t seen him personally but supposedly dominated for pegs earlier in the year and got the call up to TAC. Few clubs sniffing around him now

Rankine too much of a risk. Too many off field issues and huge flight risk. Don’t even think an Adelaide side will have to trade up in the draft. Think he’ll go untouched until an Adelaide pick.

Also @Aceman do you know much about hately? Flight risk etc. Reckon he’s a gun

Does anyone want Flanders?, I just want him for his surname lol

Good name, better player. Looks a top 10 pick, for next year though. If he successfully makes the move into the middle he could be a potential number 1.

Would take a lot to knock Noah Anderson from that spot for me, he screams too pick if not too 5. Flanders is a feisty little player I’ll give him that as is most of the Gippsland list for next year. Caleb Serong is a talented inside mid who can go forward and Brock Smith is also a tough player who has played well down back but can play elsewhere.

He’d better be a left-footer

The more research I do on the draft the more I feel we should be going best available at our first pick and targeting inside mids with our second and later pick. This draft runs deep for inside mids more than any position, small forwards the next best with talls very very slim later on. I wouldn’t argue with us taking a King twin with our first if they slid or even taking Ian Hill/Connor Rozee as quicker types of outside midfielders with Rozee having the potential to be a Robbie Gray type.

Surely we take a Hateley before either Rozee or Hill though?

I would take both ahead of Hately personally but not by much, both have more upside and speed

Sounds like a good plan. We need GWS to start losing more games!

Yep it’s why I’m really hating Richmond right now haha

Depending on where we finish, I honestly wouldn’t be opposed to the idea of using our 1st to load up on 2nd rounders. It’s becoming really hard to differentiate between picks 10-30, I think having 3 inside that range could land some serious players.

Gold Coast might be willing to swap some of their picks in the early-mid 2nd round. 17, 25, 29 might be better than 7, 30, 61. Williams, Stack and then best available Inside Mid; of which Stocker, Fletcher, Bytel, Podhajski, E Smith, Rowbottom, Valenti, Smith, Berry and a bunch of others would be available, would be the ideal draft for me.

Connor Rozee with 3 goals in his SANFL league debut, would not suprise me to see him go top 10
