Team: Essendon v Adelaide

And if they lose this round?

Oops - Stuffed up, ignore this.

I think the venue alone makes us favourites for this game.

Only two of the Crows 5 wins this season have been ‘on the road’ - a come from behind win against the bottom of the ladder North (Marvel) & another comeback against St Kilda who capitulated (in Cairns).

We’re 3-1 at Marvel this year, the one loss by 1 point. Returning there will suit us.

Their midfield is their achilles heal and we can do some damage there. We will need more out of our small/medium forwards though.

I’d like to see Durham & Reid get a run.
Think Waterman deserves a few more games to see how he develops.
Probably rest Cox or make him the sub.
Cutler & Ham (I like him but he’s just not there yet) out.

Against one of the Premiership favourites?
Most would expect them to lose today.
I think we will lose more than we win in the run home unfortunately

I can barely tip correctly one week in advance, so perhaps a pointless task, but if I was to make some predictions now…

  • Not beating the Bulldogs (0-1)
  • Win one/lose one against GWS/Swans, both at Marvel (1-1)
  • Win one/lose one against Suns (Metricon), Collingwood at MCG (1-1)
  • Should be beating both Adelaide (Marvel) & North (2-0)

A 4-3 run home, or 3-4 at worst. That takes us to 9 or 10 wins, which is about right.

No changes for mine.

Bulldogs, Sydney, GWS are all playing better than us. Should beat us.

Gold Coast & Adelaide will be 50/50 games for us. Both could beat us.

Collingwood & North should be wins. They won’t be beltings though.

Bottom 4 still very likely for Essendon. Injuries, tiredness, deplorable forward structure and too many non contributors each week.

Time for Stewart to go forward, and Hooker to be quietly put out to pasture until a farewell game in the last round against Collingwood.

Give BZT an extended run, debut Durham and select Francis if he’s in the right mental state.

Bring back Guelfi for some hardness, and fire snowflake Ham from a cannon into the wilderness.

Hope that Phillips is available for selection as he’s easily Essendon’s best ruck option.

Out: Ham, Cutler, Waterman, Hooker, Stewart

In: Zerk, Durham, Bryan, McBride, Reid

Would add Clarke as soon as he is deemed ready too

More likely to actually happen

Out: Cutler
In: Zaharakis

Edit: Guelfi should be back in too dunno who for, maybe Cox has a rest?

I would go with this line up
Hind reid Laverde
Heppell ridley redman
Langford parish Durham
Stringer Jones snelling
Cox 2MP tippa
Draper Perkins merrett
Guelfi Stewart waterman smith.

Sub. Ham

In Durham Reid guelfi
Out. Cutler ham hooker

No point playing Cox in the Roger Twose( former nz batsman in case you are wondering)with the side they have. Just let him rest forward for a couple of weeks and his height will be a nightmare for oppostion

Zaka will only be back as the sub, if that.

Tick all 3 boxes

I’d be very surprised to see Reid come in…what I’ve seen in the VFL in recent weeks has been woeful.

If Tex is out next week due to injury I think that helps heap in terms of trialing Reid.

Not sure who they bring in, but it’s one less big forward to choose from @ adelaide

Hasn’t Cutler been showing a fair bit more in the VFL compared to Zaharakis?

He’ll play. We usually have no luck when it comes to important opposition players missing games against us.

Zerk will come back in, and so he should.
No reason to rush Reid into the 1sts.
He can develop just fine at Reserves level, and there is a fair bit of ball coming down our defensive half at VFL level.
