Lol. Given that McDonald & Di Venuto were set to walk if JL stayed on much longer I doubt that’s the case. They want promotions. I think there’ll be split coaches between formats. McDonald for Tests and Bayliss for the white ball silly stuff. I’m not sure I quite rate Bayliss, feels to me Englands resurgence in the shorter formats had more to do with Morgan than him but we’ll see.
England go an entire Australian summer tour without a win. Men win 4-0, Women win 4-0. Both probably should have been 5-0.
Australia’s upcoming T20 series against New Zealand has been cancelled due to concerns around New Zealand’s border restrictions.
Australia had been due to play three matches across the ditch on March 17, 18 and 20, but the New Zealand government’s decision to delay the relaxation of its hard border has forced the matches to be scrapped.
The matches were set to be New Zealand’s first chance to avenge last year’s T20 World Cup final heartbreak.
Wednesday’s cancellation comes after New Zealand pulled out of its limited overs tour of Australia, originally set to wrap up on Tuesday, for similar reasons.
New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said his hands, and those of Cricket Australia, were tied.
“At the time we scheduled the visit there was a lot of hope that the trans-Tasman border would be open for those who met the right criteria,” he said.
“However, the advent of Omicron has, unfortunately, changed everything at the border and has made it impossible for us to continue with the series.
“It’s disappointing – but we know it’s the same for businesses and individuals and other sports, and we’re grateful for the international schedule we have.”

I would say the ump gave up as the abuse was getting out of hand and he couldn’t control it. Where was the other ump?

Depends what grade. Sometimes only one umpire and the batting team have someone at square leg.

I’ve said before that I rate him as a prospect down the track. Don’t think he is quite ready yet. Pretty good defensively and is a “good leaver” which is important for a opener. Can get a bit bogged down and needs to develop a few more shots just to rotate the strike

Sadly he has failed.
Not ideal but he is still 2-3 seasons off so it isn’t really going to impact his chances as I don’t think he is in the mix even

We generally only have umpires in 2 of the 4 grades.
Depending on numbers, we have one for each game and games with finals-importance in Div 1 have 2. This week, one Div 2 game has 2 umpires. Maybe an older guy with an inexperienced guy. One of the two teams has a reputation.
