Same boat from what I’ve been reading.
It depends on if they’re just regurtitating and adding their opinions, or are actual junior football watchers. If I went and took my info from here, Big Footy, Cal and Rookie me central and put together a mock draft, it doesn’t really add much as I don’t know the kids.
He also has a good vertical leap does Nguyen, which is important when you’re shorter as a small defender.

I mean you could trade back, but then if someone else nabs him you’re left with whoever you rate as the second best KF, who maybe you rate a few spots further back again.
Yes this seems to be the conundrum that North are facing. Reports are they desperately want Alix Tauru, and they’re weighing up trading back from pick 2 into pick 6 as pick 2 would be overs for him… but if they trade back into 6 and then Melbourne take Tauru at 5? Could be a disaster.
Is it overs if you want him.
I must admit I struggle with that concept.
It depends really. I see two aspects to the decision.
-
You might have others higher, but they’re not a positional fit for you. North have taken a lot of mids in recent drafts so for them, they might consider there to be a handful of mids that are high ranked talents but Tauru is the guy they need right now.

If the market suggests that your guy isn’t worth pick 2, and you can trade back for more value while still getting your guy, then you’re incentivised to do it.
Saad El-Hawkins should be trialled on HFF based on his 4goal 2nd half in VFL this year we have other players for HBack. Not many goalkickers. He looks the goods to me

Saad El-Hawkins
this is gonna be a fun year
I for one hail our new power full-forward Saad El-Hawkins.
No, he’s more a Doug El-Hawkins size.
With the beauty of Jennifer El-Hawkins
I think the terminology is a bit silly.
The concept is there, as noober explained.
Literally the only time the “ranking” or order exists is on that one night. Doesn’t matter if you were the best or 500th best 17yo…
The question is whether they can use pick 2 to add something else and the guy who seems to be rated 6 (ish)
c**ton (currently hold 3) or Adelaide (currently 4) might well do a deal.
Stephen El Hawkins kicked 4 goals after (a brief history of) half time
carlton basically have no room to move traded out pretty much all their picks.
I can’t see Dees arent moving out 5 + 9 for 2
North are in their predicament as drafted all mids in prior drafts.
Tigers offer 6+18 might be good enough
Blues 3+38 for 2
Saints 7,8 for 2+62 doesnt really work.
what about we get involved
Saints 2, 28, 53
North 7, 8
Ess Norths F2, 47
Future picks.
Eg Pick 2 and a future 2nd for pick 3
I wouldn’t think you’d want to drop as far as 7 or 8 if the aim was one specific kid. Too much risk.

Tigers offer 6+18 might be good enough
Tigers will offer 6 and 10 or 11 I reckon.
That’s a good deal for both parties.
I don;t think Carlton can trade their(Brisbane’s) second round as they have traded out their first rd already.
Can’t remember the wording but currently they have a first and a second this year; only a second next year
I thought you had to take two in the first two rounds across a two year period. In which case they can still shift any one of those picks.
That understanding of the rule may not be up to date…
Minimum number of first round picks , I think. And you can’t trade out of future round 1 and 2 in the same year, iirc. Can’t remember exact details.
You can’t trade out of a future first and second round.
