The 2024 Draft [no longer spec] Thread

I really like Matt Whitlock. I prefer key talls that are highly competitive and he is that.

Not sure I would have traded a likely top 5 future pick for him though.

Which Whitlock did you rate higher just curiously?

I’d be hopefully that Angus Clarke slips through a few more for us

Matt

Matt is better below his kness and more competitive. Has always out produced Jack.

Picking Jack over Matt would be more of a bet on what he might become over current production.

Because the trade was done with Melbourne, we had the draft capital to secure 3 live second round picks…… which we’ll use tomorrow night.

Essentially we’ve traded pick 9 for a F1, & 3 second rounders.

Thomas sims could be another in our range but I’d be lying if I said I watched much of he’s stuff

Cheers. Just found it odd alot of the phantoms had Jack higher (likely due to the reason you’ve stated).

Id definitely go the more competitive one though.

So we picked up Kako at 13 but didn’t use our first round pick so have 2 first rounders next year? Sounds like Rosa has done well.
Apologise to all offended by that.

Assuming we wouldv’e taken Kako at 11 anyway, we essentially came away with another 2nd rounder this year plus a F1st thanks to the NGA rules changing.

Rubbish. If Dodo worked for them a) they would not have acquired so many picks; and b] he would have squandered them on perennially injured beanpoles or flankers that could never move as he would have predicted to the midfield.

Amateur hour :joy:

Again, if you can’t understand why we traded our first this year by now you can’t be helped.

That’s actually more of an indictment on our coaching staff than on Dodororo

I’m late but did North trade their future first to Richmond for Whitlock?

If only Sheedy took Dodoro to GWS with him.

They did. Mind you they get Richmonds future second coming back which is likely to be pick 1 in the second round.

Norf just gave a future top 5 pick to get back into the late 20s this year, can only imagine what we would’ve had to cough up to get back into the top 12 or whatever

Still not worth it for a bloke that was picked in the 20’s. North must be confident they will shoot up the ladder

Just because they are first rounders doesnt make them good.

Dodoro has picked plenty of first rounders.

GWS arent masters of the draft. They have had plenty of capital and for good reason. They churn excellent footballers every year.

Apparently North were offering that pick to every team from pick 8 onwards and didn’t even get close to a taker. Its always like this on draft night, picks in the hand become massively overvalued.

It’s just nice to have a List manager that other clubs want to do trades with.
