Its nice to have a list manager that’s open to creative and advantageous pick swapping deals.

fake news, @Vander18 has assured us this is all cap

Yeah but where will that pick fall after all the academy matched bids next year…

No but we could have certainly had North Melbournes future first instead of Melbournes

And maybe other picks.

Had they waited until draft night.

Yep. Could work out for us well next year.

Funnily probably about pick 27 so pick 27 and top 5 pick for pick 27

NM traded out a F1 and got back Richmond’s F2.

If LDU leaves via free agency and nets band 1 compo. Does that imply that it is after their first available pick, which would be Richmond’s F2?

Means I also get two teams to follow next year Essendon and any team that plays Melbourne

No its from their ladder position

It’s hard to take the rhetoric of if we had pick 9 he gets bid on seriously when the best player in the draft slid as far as he did

That’s the spirit!

What other picks?
North have nothing else useful this year (and wouldn’t be allowed to trade other futures).

Leaving us trading away future capital to match Kako, and missing out on the 3 picks we have coming up.

He slid because Bris didn’t have a top pick for teams to wanna wipe out, like us.

Are you coming in with facts?

Theres probably a few permutations, I think the Melbourne trade was always 50/50 for what we gave up.

There was probably as good a offers on the table to trade live.

But thats ok. Im no draft expert. To me this feels like there will be late gems and a few of these early selections will be meh that we missed out on.

I dont think there was a generational player at 11.

Because Brisbane traded out accordingly the same way we did

Especially when you had multiple clubs with multiple first round picks.

It’s in the best interests of Richmond to bid on Kako before our first round pick.

This is the line, but there is no evidence that this was true

Credit to @noobermensch for dousing the over exuberance on Shanahan simply because he played for our VFL side and people fell in love with him. Those in club land seem to be cautious about his limitations and how he’d translate at AFL level as well.

There’s obviously no saying he can’t carve out a career for himself but he seemed a bit plane Jane to be taken with our first pick (formerly pick 9) as was being encouraged.
