Despite what Dodoro left us? You mean our first two picks? All we were missing was our 3rd and 4th rounders.
And we could have used them to match - what’s your point?
Can I asked why anyone cares even slightly about anything Mick Ablett has to say?
sources spoken to by foxfooty.com.au believe Essendon would be well placed to deal with the Tigers – and would almost certainly have a prospect in mind.
The Bombers had already been eyeing a move back into the first round after matching a bid on Isaac Kako, but their gun NGA graduate was ultimately their sole pick of the opening night.
The highly-rated Shanahan remains undrafted – and the Bombers in recent months have been closely linked to the 194cm goalkicker, especially after an impressive three-game stint for Essendon’s VFL side where he kicked 11.3.
The Bombers, who are tipped to select three more players on Thursday night, hold Picks 37, 39, 43 and 60. They could use one of those selections, as well as a future second-rounder, to trade with the Tigers, who’d not only strengthen their 2025 haul but also have the option to pick again later in the second or third round.
Whitlock, too, would be a strong candidate for the Bombers.
Sorry, but this is BS. We changed everything around to maximise getting Kako for free. We went from 2 firsts and 2 seconds across 2024/2025 without Kako to 2 firsts, 4 seconds AND Kako. Of course we wheeled and sealed to get that. Your complaining about the young gifthorse we received.
For the same bullshit reason there is a lot of discussion about it.
My opinion is right and is the only opinion that everyone should hold.
There’s no right or wrong here. Just an opinion. That’s struck a chord.
I respect your reply and reasoning. I wanted Kako first and foremost and I said Rosa did a good job? I also wanted another first round pick this year, if we finished 1-2 spots lower we could have had both.
But it only struck a chord for two reasons, neither of which are valid to my mind.

Fans of other clubs are quick to amplify anything that can be seen as dunking on essendon.

There’s a group of essendon supporters that have been conditioned to see anything we do through a negative lens.
Others fans taking the ■■■■ is the par for the norm.
Essendon supporters is the same as my first point. It begins from having a fixed position and not willing to bend that at all. And that’s both for against the Mick Ablett point of view.
I would’ve like to run the gauntlet on the supposed Kako bid. But I also would’ve traded out players worth some currency
No, I disagree with that second point. There are a bevvy of draft experts that have laid out in clear and unambiguous terms why essendon had to trade pick 9. This has nothing to do with having a fixed position.
I think we really tried.
Does anyone know how luals tracking? didnt look like was going to make it last year in the vfl but pretty sure i saw a post on twitter that hes had a huge offseason and is looking the goods
There was a pisstake article about him posted in here, so you may be referring to that.
Damn…
Why? Did he steal your missus or something?
I get that.
Mick Ablett’s way was to wait until draft day to trade it out. Put more pressure on the bid.
We probably would have ended up with a similar result in the end.
