It may end up better. It may end up worse.
Odds are, it ends up very similar. Because we’d trade down on the day as the noise gets louder.
I’m averse to trading out future seconds. Emotionally scarred by the Dodoro mantra of “I must hand over next year’s second because I’m so crap with my speculative seconds”.
I wonder what a decent recruiter can do with good second rounders.

Marks at the highest point. Super athletic for his size. Can snap a goal. Big game player. Inaccurate set shot.
If that is indeed all true, I’d be keen. Would love someone that fun to watch again.

That you’re effectively saying we should have given up getting Roberts because there was a possibility that the AFL might change the southern NGA rules the following year.
That you would prefer those two late picks to having Roberts.

Huh? Weren’t the last three seconds we traded out for Caldwell, Jones and Saad? Two of those were great deals, the third is still to be determined. 2014 we didn’t have a second due to the AFL ban.
If we involve either of our future firsts in any trade tonight I’ll be ropable.

I think taking shanahan would be a risk for us too have two undersized key forwards so if we were trying to get up Whitlock might be the choice or we hold firm and hope sims gets that far

You said “despite what Dodoro left us with”. The picks we were missing were used to get Roberts. You can’t moan about not having the picks unless you think getting Roberts was a bad move.
Yeah that’s always been my worry.
Not a complete deal breaker I guess, but it’d be nice to have some extra height next to Caddy
