Yeah I’m just looking at guys like Darcy, in 5 to 10 years time, they’ll be the norm. Then tall forwards will be coming up against tall defenders that are mostly 200cm and above, look at Rory lobb and the job he is doing on shorter opponents.
No I think you’re on point there. I was a little surprised he didn’t at least get a rookie spot to see how his game might grow with a full AFL pre-season. Definitely a talent with his sticky hands and especially his setup kicking inside 50. Perhaps a little too unselfish.
I liked him but clubs thought he was too slow, I think his only chance at the next level will to dominate VFL level on a wing.
Is Taj Hotton better than his brother Olli?
He’s a more highly rated junior
Olli was pick 35 in an average to weak draft pool. Taj is likely to be top 20 in what appears to be a strong draft pool.
Not sure about that with Scott coaching. Try Round 18.
Is Armstrong anything like Jye Amiss? Cos, damn he is an effective and clinical tall forward.
Yep a lot like him actually
@THE_DON1 - sorry if this has already been covered.
What are your thoughts on this guy?
Looks to have the foot skills we need?
Xavier Lindsay
Big fan, he is in my top 10. Balanced player who I could see being a high level player either as a midfielder, wing or half back
And your ranking for Kako?
10-20
So is 2MP
Any chance an ahole club tries to take him earlier so we have to match and lose a player?
Yeah although it’s pretty rare at the top end picks these days
I’d say from the outside looking at his chances that his performance in the VFL has guaranteed him a spot in the draft, any doubts about him getting drafted or being one of the “unlucky few” to miss out should be no more. But as you point out all he has done is confirm that he can translate his strength to a higher level against adults, the underlying question marks still exist regarding his overall ceiling which will limit his 1st round chances.
I would temper everyone expectations if ew recruit him by calling him a HB/wing more than a HB/Mid. We know how sensitive Blitz gets when we recruit the later.
People have been saying that for a long time and yet we still get the “little guys” dominating KP roles at either end.
There’s a trade off for being that tall as a forward; injuries, increased physical development time, decreased ground level presence offensively and defensively, maybe some decrease in set shot accuracy, higher centre of gravity can make you easier to push under the ball.
Taller doesn’t always make you better and Lobb has never really “secured” his spot in a line up either. He is also in a team stacked with tall talent with English 205cm, Darcy 205cm and the littl’uns Naughton and Jamarra both mid 190cm still occupying the key posts.

So is 2MP
Amiss seems a much more street-smart forward than 2MP. I don’t think they are too comparable.

Any chance an ahole club tries to take him earlier so we have to match and lose a player?
Has any team other than Sydney ever done that to another club? Generally linked players go a lot later than expected.
