The 2024 Draft [no longer spec] Thread

Didnt he also say if he had his time again he would have done things diffrently with us?

Seems he learnt from his time at Essendon and is now doing well at Hawks

That might be right, but everything I’ve heard is that he wasn’t pushing for an exit, and would have stayed if we’d offered the same terms as the Hawks. Things change over time, relationships grow. Its part of the coaching group and player leadership groups responsibility to help build those connections within the group.

All I’m saying is that letting such a talented kid walk for nothing has to be seen internally as a massive failure. I would expect that any competent organization would be interrogating that failure from top to bottom to figure out what went wrong and what needs to be changed to prevent it from happening again.

Expect for the article where mass himself said the hawks showing faith in him and giving him the two year deal as opposed to our offer of one

Any who the club got this one wrong just accept it and move on instead of whinging about it every week.

There were plenty on here that said he was no loss at the time too, they need to fess up lol. I remember saying it will be bachar houli 2.0, you could just see he had it. Weird behaviour from brad he seems to get it in for some players and then some others can’t do a thing wrong in his eyes.

That’s how you keep on ■■■■■■■ up and never change. Just throw your hands up and say “well what can you do? ■■■■ happens” instead of figuring out what went wrong and changing to fix the mistakes and errors that led to the failure.

I’ve never spoken about Mass before now by the way, so I’m hardly whinging about it every week.

You see the same comments via interview about opportunity and being sub 4-5 times?

You just have a vendetta for scott you’ve done it in other threads.
Here the exact quote from Massimo.

Not sure if taking the ■■■■ or even what that has to do with anything

I don’t think he is up to it unfortunately and even if he did find he’s way back onto a list it would be for depth and we have that covered in spades

It was a 3aw interview or Sen.

Jury well and truly out on Scott for me. Massimo’s treatment was a massive factor in him having his head turned and the oppprtunity and belief Mitchell gave him when they met last off season.

The reason the trade deal took so long is the list mgt team didn’t want to
Do it. That is fact.

I’m frustrated with our club because we cant afford to let this level
Talent walk.

If the list management team didn’t want to do it why low ball him with a one year deal the move is on them, had they gone with the two year offer to begin with it would have been done and dusted.
I agree with you that the jury is still out on scott and the selection committee as a whole has been terrible in my opinion.
Hopefully we can learn from these mistakes and go forward and hopefully the roberts early extension is a start.

They’ll be walking around with gusto from the cox extension.

Losing Mass is on the coach. He didn’t see enough in him/couldn’t effectively use him.
If he did he’d still be at Essendon.

List management/recruiting did their bit. They got him on the list, Scott ■■■■■■ it up.

We need tough competitors and good users of the ball.

Don’t we have enough depression without turning the draft threads into Massimo discussions?

Fair call. It’s very hard watching him, and Hawthorn play.

Yes, but lets not turn one of the few good threads that give hope into more ■■■■■.
